I think you are underestimating this Villa team under Emery. They have a few players thay are capable of troubling us today.

I might be being overoptimistic but I'm not seeing anything in their team to scare me. I'm loving this team and I think we are in for a great time this season.

Be interesting if we persist with box midfield today with no Konate or VVD.

Another difficult match. I think mainly because they are well organized and they have a very good counter with pacey and skillfull players. We have to work harder than them, and we have to be clinical. Hoping Darwin is on fire and our midfield is at their very best. Hope to get another positive restult before the break to continue building momentum.

Come on Liverpool!!! YNWA
agreed. hopefully this coming early in the season, and during a period of rotation with europa qualifier and some transfers in/out and injuries serves us quite well timing wise - so they're not all as well versed in their shape and counters (and coordinated cheating) as they were at the end of lat season

Really would love for Nunez to bag another one today and really kick start his season, i think a confident fully charged Darwin who feels important and has the trust of the manager could be quite something for us, we've seen flashes - but to see consistent performances and lead the line - wow what a story he could write for himself at this club.

Tough game today, the defence has to be alert, switched on and aggressive - I think if we look solid at the back, we'll get the goals that win this game.

Really pleased to see Jones back in as soon as properly fit. He finished last season well and had a great summer. Really interested to see what heights he can reach this season if he can nail down a spot.

Great to see Nunez starting as well.

Think at home we’ll have too much for these hoping for a few goals too

Feels like almost throughout the whole Premier League era we’ve had a better record against these at Villa Park than Anfield. Do the stats back that up? Feels like the away ground we win at the most anyway.

A bit concerning that it’s only the 4th game and we’re already down to Gomez and Matip at CB. Can see Endo playing there at some point today as unlikely Matip will last the full game.
That said, Midfield and attack are looking great so it’ll have to be a high scoring win. 4-2 I reckon.

Endos a right back and reserve keeper.

It'll be a tough one today if we don't control that middle and stop them from running into our CBs.

Think Klopp probably wants to give Curtis some game time before Gravenberch arrives, and have Mac Allister get used to the 6 position.

We'll win this 6-3 or 7-4.

However a 1-0 off Jota's  backside in the 94th minute would suit, three points is all that matters.

Looks like he's gone for premier league tried and tested first along with Szoboszlai who lets face it has looked fantastic since he's joined.

Seeing the pace of players like Watkins and Diaby against that back three is going to be, eh, interesting. Emery is very tactically astute and doesn't take Guardiola to recognise that it's a weak spot for us today. Big game for Gomez. I've been a big critic of his for a while but he was excellent last week and his pace is going to be very important today.

Very excited to see what Nunez does today too.

Mac can get a red card?

Alisson red in the first minute for time wasting and a penalty each half for villa when Martinez decides to end salah's and szobo season with a rash tackle. Oh of course red for Trent due to his protesting to the inbred in black.

What's klopp head to head record vs unai? I only remember the final loss. His record vs us when at arsenal wasn't really good isn't it.

I hope we don't go guns blazing and concede first. We have the pressure of those in the stadium but id expect Villa to sit deep and counter so starting with control and patience could help.

Can Trent please start a game without incident please with a nice solid quiet first 20. The ability of Matip and Gomez to deal with Watkins speed and physicality will be very important in us getting the win.
