With the amount of time wasting these c*nts do, I expect them to be down to 8 men by half time.

Will be interesting to see how we approach this with Ibou out - Isak looks like he could do us some damage if they counter when Trent's on the wander. Still think we'll do them though, and Endo's going to score a thunderbastard at some point.

First 20 mins are key I think today. Newcastle usually start fast but start to tire and time waste after that, if we can keep it tight and maybe grab a goal would make it very tough for them

I think we need to start with Diaz, Gakpo and Salah today with Gakpo coming deep to disturb the Newcastle midfield. Newcastle try to create a fast start and overwhelm teams with the crowd behind them. If we can control that and then second half use Jota and Nunez to run at a gassed out team it may be more useful. Also think Bejcetic might feature here off the bench to help shore things up. They have some good attacking sub options too so it will be an energetic game. Really not sure what you do with Konate being out. That's a nightmare for us.

We're going to have to start the first 15-20 minutes fast and quick since we're away. We don't have the advantage of familiarity and the majority of the crowd, so we can't let them dictate play in the first 20.
That's what's expected of any away team. It's the normal away-tactic.

The home team usually have to stick it out for the first 20 minutes(as was evident vs. Bournemouth, as was evident vs Chelsea), but as was mostly the case during Jurgen's reign... we more than likely usually score 1 or 2 in the first 20.

But this is another season under different circumstances, so we'll have to prove we still have it. If we can't score in the first 20 and take advantage... it will be a bit of a problem, cause we'll have to wind down, which is when Newcastle will start to grow into the game until half-time. Likewise, if they equalize, or score first - it's not ideal.

Rinse and repeat, the first 10-15 minutes of the 2nd half, and one last hoorah from the 87th minute, deep into extra time.

Nah I think he starts. He was bought as a starter, which is why he started the day after he was signed, without even having properly spoken to his family, or getting a rest.
Guy went straight from the airport, to headquarters, to training and back to his apartment... slept and woke up to matchday-training.

So glad we're past that era! ;D

This stuff used to be all over TV, every morning!
That was the best era! There was no social media, no-one cared what they looked like, or what they wore, or whether they might look embarrasing (back then, or any time in the future). I had some hilarious videos and photos of me from that era, the funniest of which my brother showed everyone in his best man's speech on my wedding day.

I look back on stuff like that with nostalgia, not cringe. The world was a much happier place, and who doesn't love a load of people dancing and smiling in shiny leotards? ;D

Anyway, I hope we prove the many doubters wrong this season, and put these sportswashers back in their box today. They were mid table or relegation fodder before the oil money poured in - just like City.

Endo will be a key player if he starts, as our defence needs some protection with Konate out. There are already positive signs of real quality from Mac Allister and Szoboszlai, which will only improve the more time they train and play together.

Ali, Trent, Virgil, Matip, Robbo, Endo, Alexis, Dom, Diaz, Gakpo, Mo. Then Jota/Nunez off the bench against tired legs. 2-0 to us.
I've got OCD, but I prefer to call it CDO so it's in alphabetical order.

Correct mate. That was really the best... nostalgic. Even the aerobics dance vids, Captain Planet, Walkmans and the Yo-yo craze ... but it had it's ermmm... "issues". ;D

I used to be endlessly nostalgic, always comparing today with the 80's and 90's but then I realized what I'm doing to the kids - my own and those who want to listen to what I have to say, and I changed my view on life and the past.
Now, I've moved on and I don't hanker for it as much- just a little. My mindset now is that there is nothing better than today and tomorrow, even with all its weird issues- not even the past.

It's not really my world anymore.

An uncertain feeling going into this one..

I can make as good a case for us winning 3-1 as for losing 3-1.

This season has a touch of the unknown about it.., which is quite interesting

Yeah wouldn’t start him here vs one of the most high energy midfields in the league

Probably should be the same front 6 - although I’d pick Elliot over gakpo but for some reasons we’ve never tired him at LCM - but Nunez instead of Jota to keep them stretched and exploit their lack of CB pace

I think Gomez and Endo come in, hope Nunez does too.

Could have really used Konate up against Isak, think he’ll cause us trouble down right channel.

We’re good enough to open them up and score a few though.

Thats why it has to be Gomez instead of Matip. Especially if we're going to use Trent as an inverted fullback again. Gomez has better recovery pace.

Where's that tea-leaves fella gone?

I remember the season he was doing that and we were playing West Ham. I had a little look on  an Irons forum to see how their lot were feeling about the match. One of their lot had been on Rawk and was incredulous because wex all took some random poster going on about tea leaves seriously. Inshallah.

Was involved in a hit and run with a 12 year old skateboarder and broke both his arms.

He didn’t see it coming.
:'(
That's so sad to hear.
Hope he's recovering and there isn't any permanent, long-term damage.

The kid okay?
Ba-dum-tish?
Hmmm... Amir?

You bastard, isn't it? ;D

In such a sumptuous festival of shite, I wouldn't be so quick to pick a winner..

But he'd make the shortlist

Collectively, cockneys have a very limited sense of humour.
They all thought “til death us do part” starring  Alf Garnett was a fly on the wall documentary about an East End Docker
"I want to build a team that's invincible, so that they have to send a team from bloody Mars to beat us."
