It's boring as fuck lads, be honest here. It's not 2am in Ronnie Scott's here, put a bit of fucking oomph into it Alex. Matt's doing his best but by god it's low energy stuff.

Even the upbeat songs are without energy. Get they need to evolve but a bit of fucking enthusiasm from the front man goes a long way

Lead singer seems to be going full Mike Patton. Guess that's not his normal style?

Has been for a few years now

Has anyone seen them at a stadium show this summer ?

Saw them at the Emirates. Thought they were great but then I’m 50 this year and I don’t need every song to be a banger. Quite like the slower reflective tracks but I know others disagree.

I would also add that he’s clearly not over his laryngitis tonight. Performance is slightly subdued.

I normally love the Foo Fighters but thought the sound was sht for them earlier.

Aye, sound wasn’t the best and that’s from the telly but I think the emotion of it carried it.  Great to see them back as I thought they might be no more after loosing Taylor.

Watching on a bit of delay. Liking most of it (pretty tight band and Helders is a bit of a beast). I know they can’t just sing songs about going out when you’re about 18 anymore, but that was a great day-boo.

Anyway, what time do the polarising opinions on GnR kick off tomorrow? :D

Scared to watch that. Going to see them on Tuesday. I think it's going to be shite. Only bought the tickets in 2019 though.

Shocking set. Can't even be fucked watching until he inevitably plays a song everyone knows to finish. I loved this band but saw them live about 7/8 years ago and he phoned it in then too.

I don't particularly like the new style they have to be honest and I wish they could still sing the old bangers in the old style but I get why they don't. I've seen this as a bit hit and miss but 505, body paint and wanna be yours have all really hit for me. All top tunes

I missed the first half of the set and was pretty gutted.

Now I'm gutted I've had to listen to the second half. This is truly fucking awful. Can't remember a worst headliner.

I've never listened to any of their albums - the singles have never done it for me to make we want to - and I've only caught the last few songs tonight but it's done absolutely nothing to make me want to go back and listen to them, and whilst I know it's unfair to judge someone on such a short viewing, the guy just oozes twattishness (is that a word?).

I’ve already pointed out I’m not a fan but thought I would watch as a headline act.

Conclusion was they are pretty meh and the crowd reaction would seem to back that up.  Sorry just don’t get the hype for these.

It was a poor headline act. Doesn’t mean they are shit, they just don’t cut the mustard now.!

Thought it was a perfectly good set by them, they're a good band with a great collection of songs. I do prefer their earlier stuff but their debut came out when I was 18 so was all "formative years" stuff and most of the music I hold a nostalgic candle to is from that era. Totally understand why they've gone in a different direction and some of their newer material (Bodypaint in particular) is brilliant.

It wasn't a performance that will go down in history - nothing remarkable or innovative. But he's recovering from laryngitis so probably deserves a fair bit of credit/leeway.

Hot Chip always put on a show. I like the singer - he might look and dress like Timmy Mallett, but he doesn't let that hold him back. A lesson for Mr Turner there.
