I'm well aware he was talking shite. Still a cool dude though.

He is.

The vocals still say well off here
No, jazz. You fear jazz. You fear the lack of rules, the lack of boundaries. Oh look, it's a fence. But, no, it's soft.

Disappointed with no Leftfield on BBC4 despite advertised it's all Manics

They are on after the Manics mate. As above / on Page 10 - www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001n9yp

2 more Manics songs (You love Us and If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next) and then it'll be Leftfield.

I'm on iPlayer but looks like it doesn't start on BBC2 until 10, so maybe they'll play it from the start then.

I think the set has been great so far - a few glitches on Axl's mic or earpiece it seems - but the voice and presence are still there (or is now back).

When I look back at my youth, there’s some music that’s grown away from me, oasis, blur, Nirvana, bands like that.. they seem old and a little tired..

But some bands, their music is as fresh and vibrant as it was the first day I heard it. And I can remember what I was doing the first time I heard paradise city. It’s a moment in time captured. And that sound is as fresh now as it was then.

Axel can’t always reproduce his snark live, but his singing doesn’t have to be melodic, Slash makes his guitar sing like the best diva and it’s the juxtaposition of Axel’s wasp like angry whine and Slash’s singing guitar that makes it all work..

And I’m back when I first heard them
“Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
“Generosity always pays off. Generosity in your effort, in your work, in your kindness, in the way you look after people and take care of people. In the long run, if you are generous with a heart, and with humanity, it always pays off.”

It might be the first time I've seen him since the 80s (early 90s?). Got quite the shock. For some reason I was expecting just a more wrinkled version of what he was then.
