I've pondered it previously but I'm not sure where your media home is after you've been sacked by GB News for being too much a twat.  Ranting into your webcam for a few thousand nutters on social media, I guess.

As for GB News themselves I expect they're going to try to become a more serious right wing mouthpiece with the "considered" views of the likes of Rees-Mogg rather than a soapbox for shock jocks like Fox.  Presumably they are haemorrhaging money currently.

On Saturday, a day before he is scheduled to appear on screen, Cleese reposted an image of Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson to X, formerly Twitter, and wrote that he could not believe GB News had hired a “serial liar”.

“I can hardly believe that GB News will give this proven serial liar his own programme,” he wrote.

Last year, after the announcement that Cleese would be joining the broadcaster, the comedian and actor spoke to journalist Amol Rajan on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme about his move.

He said: “I met one or two of the people concerned and had dinner with them and I liked them very much.

“And what they said was: ‘People say it’s the rightwing channel; it’s a free speech channel.’”

So he joined GB News because it's all about "Free Speech", but apparently he wants to see Johnson "cancelled" in this case? Pick a lane, John.

It's a very windy moral path they walk along.  A lot of the free speech Cleese defends is lies or, at the very least, flies in the face of evidenced science.  Some of Johnson's lies are more obvious ("I wasn't at a party" despite photos of him at a party...) but a lie is a lie.

Cleese also called out Mark Dolan recently for his nonsense about Meghan Markle.

Based on what she's said, I think they've watched the video, then taken quotes from it. They've not run it as a video story itself.

It's an amazing moment - and one that Sunak and the Tory party have brought on themselves. The Nutcase stood there berating the Prime Minister and commanding him (twice) to "look me in the eyes Rishi Sunak". And Sunak did - with a weak, accommodating smile on his face. The Nutcase was shouting at him and dissing him and Sunak took it all because he was a right-wing extremist and he's afraid of right-wing extremists.

I thought Sunak shat on the dignity of his office when he sucked up on stage to Elon Musk. But this was far worse.

My impression when seeing him in that clip with Sunak was that he was just itching to punch the PM. (I know, I know, this might apply to many of us.) But this fella looked as though he might actually do it! So it comes as no surprise to me that he has a history of violence. He seemed unhinged - and nothing to do with the COVID vaccine, of course.
