Unfortunately I have heard of him, absolute mental case, one of those weird black Christian people who thinks they are somehow more acceptable as immigrants because they are Christians and other immigrants are responsible for collapse of ‘British’ values

I've not heard of Calvin Robinson, but i've read on another forum some call him, The Cassock Wazzock.

Quote
GB News’ scandal-hit star presenter Dan Wootton is tonight at the centre of a Metropolitan Police probe after a three-year investigation by Byline Times, it can be exclusively revealed.
Detectives from the Complex Investigation Team of the force’s Central Specialist Crime division are looking into serious allegations relating to the obtaining of sexual images by deception and blackmail.
A Met Police spokesperson told this newspaper: “In June 2023, the Metropolitan Police was contacted with regards to allegations of sexual offences committed by a man aged in his 40s.

Freeing up a few more slots for Tory MPs!

I've pondered it previously but I'm not sure where your media home is after you've been sacked by GB News for being too much a twat.  Ranting into your webcam for a few thousand nutters on social media, I guess.

As for GB News themselves I expect they're going to try to become a more serious right wing mouthpiece with the "considered" views of the likes of Rees-Mogg rather than a soapbox for shock jocks like Fox.  Presumably they are haemorrhaging money currently.

I think more people with opposing views watch them in order to hear the dickheads make fools of themselves than 'right wing ant-wokers'.

I'll bet there are a few little Englanders scattered around Nuneaton, Swindon, Clacton, Basildon and Leeds who have it as standard viewing just to re-boil their stewed blood and no more.

John Cleese belatedly realising that there might just be some ethical issues with the channel he eagerly signed up to take cash from:

https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2023/oct/28/john-cleese-surprised-at-gb-news-showcase-for-serial-liar-boris-johnson
Quote
On Saturday, a day before he is scheduled to appear on screen, Cleese reposted an image of Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson to X, formerly Twitter, and wrote that he could not believe GB News had hired a “serial liar”.

“I can hardly believe that GB News will give this proven serial liar his own programme,” he wrote.

Quote
Last year, after the announcement that Cleese would be joining the broadcaster, the comedian and actor spoke to journalist Amol Rajan on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme about his move.

He said: “I met one or two of the people concerned and had dinner with them and I liked them very much.

“And what they said was: ‘People say it’s the rightwing channel; it’s a free speech channel.’”

So he joined GB News because it's all about "Free Speech", but apparently he wants to see Johnson "cancelled" in this case? Pick a lane, John.

It's a very windy moral path they walk along.  A lot of the free speech Cleese defends is lies or, at the very least, flies in the face of evidenced science.  Some of Johnson's lies are more obvious ("I wasn't at a party" despite photos of him at a party...) but a lie is a lie.

Cleese also called out Mark Dolan recently for his nonsense about Meghan Markle.

Mark Dolan is really appalling, isn't he ?

It seems to me that GB News is harming itself by putting out this nasty, vulgar rubbish

Cleese should do a segment on his new show where he classifies statements as "free speech", "lie" or "nasty, vulgar rubbish".

Brilliant!

Neil Oliver is having a debate about censorship. Michael Crick criticises GBeebies for it's right-wing bias. GBeebies cuts to a break to silence - censor if you like  ;D - Crick and eject him from the debate.

Presumably at some point during that break the irony penny drops for Oliver  :lmao :lmao :lmao

I've mentioned my British based Canadian friend who runs a YT channel. Turns out GB hijacked one of her videos about living in the UK. She says they almost made it like an interview. Didn't even link to her channel, but that's probably a good thing. She has to deal with enough xenophobia as it is. 👀

Did GB do this at YT (which might fall within the YT's AUP), or did they use it for broadcast, which I assume would be a breach of your friend's IP?

Based on what she's said, I think they've watched the video, then taken quotes from it. They've not run it as a video story itself.

I thought everything GBeebies ran was a complete non-story? ;D

More seriously though, the way the government is going after legit immigrants who have built a life for themselves, it makes my blood boil to see right wing shites taking material like this for a "feel good" story.

It's not a crowd Sunak's ever going to win over.  Sunak could lay out a brilliant vision - theoretically he could, in practice he clearly can't anyway - and he'd just get a shrug of the shoulders from most of them.  Frottage can burp out something about pushing boats back and get a standing ovation.

I saw the clip with the well-known conspiracy nut from Scotland ("Covid was an excuse for the Government to practice Genocide on the population"). It's an amazing moment - and one that Sunak and the Tory party have brought on themselves. The Nutcase stood there berating the Prime Minister and commanding him (twice) to "look me in the eyes Rishi Sunak". And Sunak did - with a weak, accommodating smile on his face. The Nutcase was shouting at him and dissing him and Sunak took it all because he was a right-wing extremist and he's afraid of right-wing extremists.

I thought Sunak shat on the dignity of his office when he sucked up on stage to Elon Musk. But this was far worse.

That GB News thing from Sunak was laughable. Seeing that nutter moaning about the vaccine was exactly what the moderator, Sunak and GB News deserved. A joke of a channel with bellends asking questions. If he had asked me to look him in the eye like that then i would have shipped in the latest batch of vaccines and rammed them into his eyes.

You say that, but polling of a group of undecided voters who watched shows that 50% of them now support Little Fishy and his brownshirts, whilst just 14% would vote for someone else (36% still undecided)

The poll was conducted by GBeebies and had a huge sample size of 80 people, 100% accurate. Be afraid.

It's probably more useful as case study in recency bias and gullibility.  If Richard Tice* had been in the middle acting the smarmy salesman he would have likely got similar or better results from that audience.

* Could also possibly substitute Starmer in but an undecided audience of GBeebies viewers are likely undecided between the Tories, Reform, Britain First, BNP etc.  I'm of course generalising.

Yeah, I kind of have my doubts they were truly undecided in a totally impartial way (and don't make the assumption that they were just undecided between Tory & Labour, and not undecided between the Tories and Reform or the EDL)

I only saw a brief clip and it wasn't clear whether it was a conspiracy thing or some sort of legit medical thing I'd not heard of (because surely the former was too ridiculuous to be on "TV", even GB News).  But he's some known loon?

No, this guy (apologies for linking to the GB News channel, make sure not to like or subscribe):

The compensation scheme is I think capped at £120,000, doesnt seem much in some circumstances.
What was wrong with the shouty fella though, he didnt seem very injured
As I've said before, the Full English is just the base upon which the Scots/Welsh/NI have improved upon. Sorry but the Full English is the worst of the British breakfasts.

Saw a picture of Rishi Sunak at a GBN people’s forum… just him in front of a pile of middle aged white people looking unimpressed.

That’s because he’d just informed them that Sue Cook had pulled out.

Never watched Sunak on GB news but it was the talk this morning on GMB and they referred to the mad anti vax  character.  I did chuckle that GB news and Sunak can’t even hand pick a vox pops type audience without risking the loons among them.

Did he not think to offer them a blazer badge?

My impression when seeing him in that clip with Sunak was that he was just itching to punch the PM. (I know, I know, this might apply to many of us.) But this fella looked as though he might actually do it! So it comes as no surprise to me that he has a history of violence. He seemed unhinged - and nothing to do with the COVID vaccine, of course.
