Great draw. Fully expected City getting Porto and us getting Munich.

I’m going to love us stuffing Real. After Barca has stuffed them.

Man City vs Dortmund can easily go both ways. And even if they get through, they will have to play Bayern Munich or PSG in the semi-final. It was one of the worst possible draws for Man City ...

I totally agree. I think it's as hard a draw as they could have got. That doesn't stop me thinking they're the favourites and that there is a good chance they'll win the whole thing.

I watched Dortmund against Bayern recently and unless that was a one-off defensive horror show then Man City will tear them to shreds.

If we were trying to map a route to the final, then this is pretty much as good as it gets.

Had a feeling we would draw Real.

City are going to win it eventually, just like Chelsea did.

Not fucking this year though. This year is ours, in classic Liverpool style.

Not a bad draw. Avoided arguably the 3 best sides on recent form in both the quarter and semi if we get through.

Need to get playing how we can and have for the last 3 years. If so then we could win this.

Correct. Dortmund are 6th in the league 12 points behind Leipzig and have already lost 9 games. City should see them off comfortably. Hope I am wrong but City are a machine this season

From the Guardian:

2/1 Man City, 7/2 Bayern, 5/1 Chelsea, 11/2 Liverpool, 7/1 PSG, 10/1 Real Madrid, 25/1 Borussia Dortmund, 33/1 Porto.

Surprised to see Chelsea as 3rd faves to be honest. They're not all that.

About as good a draw as we could have hoped for. With the 3 best teams in the other half of the draw, we have a realistic route to the final.

And we owe Madrid big time. Salah will be up for that one in a big way.

I doubt the players themselves feel that way.  I mean, look at the recent derby.  Didn't lay a glove on them after they'd effectively shafted our entire season.

It's the crowd and the atmosphere against Madrid at Anfield that would  have been the thing ... but alas.

I still think we'll see them off though.  Chelsea v Liverpool semi again!
United used to win titles on easy street, time for us to take over that real estate

Yeah, I watched that game and thought the same actually. I think any hope Dortmund have in that tie relies on one of their attackers (probably Haaland) having a worldie.

Have an odd feeling about Chelsea this year. Assuming they beat Porto, it's only a dilapidated Liverpool or a Real Madrid side who have been on the wane for years between them and a Final. They'd almost certainly be underdogs in a Final against City, Bayern or PSG, but anything can happen in a one-off game. Tuchel is a good manager and they're building something interesting. Think Liverpool 17-18.

I guess it's pretty much based on the bookies fancying them to beat us more so than they think PSG will beat Bayern - seem fair enough based on recently form.

Cardie always goes all weird with his tactics and selection in big games though. He's been knocked out by Spurs and us while City were flying, knocked out by Lyon last season and he's been beaten at home by a poor Utd side last week.

Take nothing for granted.

PSG are only behind us and Chelsea because the bookies expect them to lose to Bayern. Seems a reasonable expectation.

that tie could end up 7-5 on aggregate

Yup, very easily. Dortmund are not very good at defending, but they do have the attacking power to have a go at Man City. And we know how Man City react in the Champions League, when things are not going their way ...

Given its the last 8 it would be tough to ask for much better than that.

Still, we need to win the ties which is obviously not a given but we could have got a city-psg-bayern type path, gotta say this is better. We owe Real anyway been dreaming of this tie since you know when, beating them into the last 4 would put a hell of a lot of salve on my wounds. They dont strike me as all that either. Ramos badly needs the use of a Phillips Screwdriver. I dont even know what that is yet, but i'll know it when i see it   ;D

That can't be right can it?. Can the Arsenal game be moved? It's surely going to be a League Cup line up if not.

More likely 8pm as they'll switch Sky games round as the Arsenal fixture is on Sky, not BT.

This. Struggled to see a way to the final until the draw, now its very easy to think that we could get there. Then, anything can happen.

Not necessarily, and the longer they don't do it for, the harder it'll get for them, especially when Pep leaves. Also remember that Chelsea have only won it once in 17 years of being an oil club and that was in incredibly fluky circumstances.

I dont want another All English final if we make it..  ::)

Hopefully City play their usual brand in the quarters.

A lot of their plastic fans don't seem too worried about the draw.. Feel they will batter Dortmund and they like the insurance of a two legged affair against Bayern or PSG as opposed to facing them in a one off final.
Most think Chelsea are the strongest left on our side of the draw..

Really excited about the draw, its just very unfortunate that it will be played without fans. I think where we would win the battle is midfield, i don't think Real Madrid's midfield will have the legs to keep up with us. One worry is obviously Kabak, and Phillips going up against Benzema, Hazard, and Assensio - but I have a feeling that somehow they will keep them quite enough. I am thinking we win 3-2 on aggregate.

City will pick Dortmund apart, but Bayern and PSG are both way more dangerous.  Fancy our chances against Real, and we know what to expect with Chelsea.
