Chelsea have all the money in the world to spend on players but they don't really worry me for the time being. Their approach looks completely scattergun. Only problem is they can make years of expensive mistakes in the market and it's always a drop in the ocean.

Everyone's fave Romano saying Chelsea have signed Andrey Santos from Vasco.

https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1609485078681341952?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw

Everyone will focus on the big money signings but it's also really mad how much they spend on young players (who will likely never make it there) - They probably spend more than what we do in an average summer on people under the age of 20. This season alone they've signed the young midfielder from Villa for about 20 million, some American goalkeeper for about 10 million, and a young lad from Inter who'd never played a game in their first team, he didn't come cheap either. Now this kid who's absolutely going on loan to Holland for about 5 years before leaving on a free. Fucking nuts, and the mad thing is they do it every year.

To be honest, they don't really have it anymore. They are being owned by similar owners to our's now, who are making the same Carroll/Downing type begginers' mistakes ...

I had a feeling he might pressure Potter to drop Koulibaly. He’s really not been good since he moved. Thiago Silva looks the younger, more competent player when he’s nearly a decade older and closing in on 40.

Badiashile looks a very good young player it just seems a pointless move for him and for Chelsea at present.

Brentford signing Kevin Schade from Freiburg, on loan but with obligation to buy for 25m euro. He'd been loosely linked to us, young winger with apparently frightening pace.

Also Jack Butland set to replace Dubravka as United's backup keeper.

Brentford seem a bit hit and miss with scouting attackers now. Toney and Mbeumo have been roaring successes but Damsgaard, Wissa and Lewis-Potter haven’t done a lot to this point. That’s a big fee by their standards.

Seen nothing of Mudryk and by all accounts he has good potential but the money they're talking for him just sounds mad. He's 22 and not even played a lot of football in Ukraine even though their season was curtailed because of the war. Doesn't mean he won't be a great player but there's not much of a track record there. I refuse to believe he can just walk into the side at Chelsea or Arsenal right away. Fucking crazy money.

Money doesn't really matter to them but surely they could find better for a lot less. They do love signing players so other clubs can't have them though.

We've bid 60m for him and I dont think we should go any higher, Chelsea reportedly ready to pay 88m for him, absolutely crazy, they can have him for that sort of money, we can buy him again for 30m after they ruin his career to become the next Ziyech/Werner/Havertz

The secret is to let him go somewhere low-key for a year or 2 after Chelsea, and then buy him for cheap then. Worked out for us and City with Salah and KDB

Yeh 60m is a a big risk, and very high end money, but he looks very talented. 100m euros is ridiculous, those Grealish and Antony transfers have totally ruined the market

Christ I wish we had a league like La Liga where the head just went 'Right you need to sell half your team Chelsea you're way over FFP' but then I guess if we did, in the same sentence he'd probably also go 'No sure thats fine, you can sign Declan Rice, James Maddison and Caicedo'.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Now Romano coming out and saying chelsea never offered 120 million for enzo and the final offer was 85m euros or 75m pounds. That's a whole lot of backtracking being done here by the ITKs. This also tells you why these 100m+ figures for all sorts of players are almost always made up. Sancho didnt cost that much, haaland didnt cost that much, it just doesnt happen so often for every other player having a decent season to be priced that much. There's maybe 2 or 3 players and 2 or 3 teams that can make that sort of market.
