Anthony Gordon £40 million

Football died

He’s versatile though. He can also make a useful golf caddy.

Kinda hoping this goes through, it'll make Chelsea worse and Everton will probably spend the money on Arnautovic or something. Only danger is if they get Gallagher or Broja on loan.

Ha, amazing. Our two biggest rivals are probably 2 of the worst run clubs around and definitely the worst in the top flight.

Mangala, Freuler, O'Brien, Kouyate, Lingard

I know teams need depth with this season and more subs, but surely they won't be signing Aouar as well unless they plan on dropping Lingard for tougher games to have more in midfield. (Which would be mad considering the wages they put him on)

They’re genuinely looking at signing players that newly promoted teams would normally be looking at. It’s remarkable.

Not surprised. He will be turning in his Liverpool grave at what Chelsea are currently doing in the market. His first job would be to try and reverse it all.

With Chelsea, I'd be very surprised if Boehly was willing to step away from transfers completely. A summer of going absolutely wild on incomings and outgoings and he's just going to sit i the background and not get involved? No chance.

This Gordon one is craziest one yet. Where do they see him playing you reckon? Another wingback?

Surely if they're trying to add goals, they haven't identified him?

Just utterly, utterly bizarre.

So you have a midfield that's been crap for a long time with no one who can retain or distribute the ball. What do you do? Obviously, sell your highly rated 21 year old midfield prospect before he's started a game so you can sign a player who's had longstanding disciplinary problems at every team he's ever played for:

Whilst I agree with your sentiment, Garner looks absolutely Championship standard the few times I've seen him. His set-pieces might make his stats look passable, but there's not much else to his game.

Feel for him a bit, had a good loan at Forest last year and they wanted him back, but United have kept him all summer only to decide to sell him towards the end. Although with the way Forest are going, they'll probably still sign him.

Yeah, you feel he would have got a chance at Forest this year in the prem if this had been sorted earlier. But now they have gone and got better options probably.

Another mess at United, similar to Henderson the year before. Must be the Glazer's fault.

Very odd to bring in young Lingard, even with youth on his side, with such massive wages if you’re going to go out an sign a much better 8/10 player in Aouar.

There simply has to be something in Aouar or his numbers that us mortals don’t see. He performs at a very good level for Lyon and they’ve been struggling to give him away. I’ve no idea what it may be but there’s nothing apparent on the surface.

What interest...?
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Seems to be attitude related problems from what I have read in the past. Maybe some consistency and lack of development since the links to bigger clubs about 2/3 years ago. That and Lyon being a bit mad doesn't help.

Come deadline day I can see people crying out for a 23:55 'swoop' for the likes of Nampalys Mendy on a season-long loan from Leicester. That wouldn't even be methadone, more like two Lemsips in the one cup, but it might take the edge off for some.

So the stuff about him giving Guardiola his word that he would join City was bollocks then.

Looks like a case of him being a good player who we looked at and decided wasn't what we need if he does end up at Wolves.

We'll see if it goes through or if it's a Tottenham style agreed a fee then it collapses type deal. Weird to go there if he rejected West Ham but Mendes i suppose.

Sometimes links with players in foreign press are real, sometimes they're agent-driven. Nunes looks the latter to me. There's been nothing to suggest he's a target. As far as I can see, some ITKs said we liked him, loads of Portuguese press linked him, we all looked and thought he looked decent, now there'll be widespread disbelief that we haven't gone for him.

Unless it's a Diaz and we swoop in  ;D

Cunha would be a decent signing for the Mancs (esp given where they are) - at the very least he presses and they desperately need a forward that does

Personal terms agreed and he accepted Wolves according to Romano.

Great signing all around, ridiculous we haven't signed him ourselves when we're in such dire need of quality midfielder.
