They'll probably try to engineer a swap of Ronaldo for Messi - now which team would have to pay a bit extra to balance the transfer out?  ;D

Erikson has agreed to go there.

This is such a weird deal for them, it really is. It makes no long term sense at all.

The bedwetting (and I use that term in the strongest possible sense) from some posters on here last summer when they'd signed Sancho, Varane and Ronaldo was absolutely bonkers and deserves to be cemented in RAWK folklore.

I remember when they beat West Ham last year after a dodgy penalty and then Noble missing the pen in the last minute.

Genuine fear from a large portion of people that United, despite being obviously shit, would win the league on the back of spawniness, referee's, and Ronaldo.

Not long after I believe we played them at Old Trafford which thankfully shut it all up

I don't think it's that bad. He's better than what they have so for that reason alone they might as well do it.

How does he fit in with Bruno Fernandes as well in their side? Both luxury players who need a team built around them.

For all Eriksen is a tidy player, even at his peak he was slow and could be hit and miss. He's not the profile of player they need. Similar to when they signed Mata.

I think Eriksen was better served being the big fish in a small pond with a team built around him at Brentford. He's gone for the big offer though. Improves the squad at least and perhaps the team.

Eriksen is a good signing for them providing they buy one or two defensive minded midfielders. He is probably a rotation option with Bruno you'd think.
They still need 2 forwards and a couple of defenders too.
Miles behind.

It’s a good signing for them although I cannot see him and Bruno playing at the same time. Both demand to be the main playmaker and one would have to give way.

I had also hoped for Eriksen to show a bit more loyalty to a club that resurrected his career. So for him to jump ship at the first sign of a larger pay check is quite disappointing.

A 3 year contract seems a bit odd as well, given his age and medical history. I guess they were desperate to beat Brentford to his signature.

Eriksen is obviously getting a shed load of money so from his position, I can understand it. But from United's position it makes no sense at all, what are they actually trying to build here? There seems to be little sense being applied in any of their signings so far.  :o

Bizarre move for United to make. Erikson is as slow as they come and they desperately need legs in that team. As sidewards a signing as you'll ever see.

No matter who they buy the likes of De Gea, Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw, Fred, Rashford will still be playing 40+ games for them next season. That's half an Everton side in all but name.

They were in serious threat of relegation when he joined to be fair, they didn't bring him in to be charitable, they thought he could improve them and he did.

Absolute fucking shambles hahahaha

Ten Hag has such an open goal here to drive Ronaldo out of the club and establish himself as his own man, and tell the fans you can want the past or you want the future, you can't have both. If he doesn't have the balls to get rid of that absolute disaster of a signing who literally couldn't give a shit about the team, unlikely to really make any much more difficult decisions.

Signing Eriksen... random. Decent footballer obviously, but if he plays, van de Beek and Bruno don't play. Pissing more money down the drain on another player well past his best.

This is fucking great.

The big question is which CL club would want him?!
Also they appear to have not planned for it (??) so they’re really short of fire power

Ah well then it was just a brilliant move by Eriksen and his agent: "I'll sign for Brentford."

Man Utd: "Oh shit we can't get beaten to a signing by Brentford, think of the fan sentiment measurements. Let's offer a three year deal."

He think's it's the perfect signing with Fernandes not being good enough (despite him praising him as the greatest man ever a year ago), and that this signing shows the footballing world why Liverpool won't be in the top 4 next season.

Probably something like that

Absolutely baffling transfer activity in the PL this summer so far. Phillips to Abu Dhabi? The Pigeon to Spurs? Jesus to Arsenal? Eriksen to United? Ronaldo to Chelsea?
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.
