Welshred our resident expert wasn't far wrong for a guy speculating based on video footage. He was quite hopeful it wasn't too serious.

Who’d have guessed a well educated and professional in his field RAWK poster, and WelshRed, would end up knowing more than Twitter chancers  ;D ;D

He really is a super sound lad.I love how he comes accross and is so level headed.

He will be in his prime and playing in a world class (club) side when the next WC comes around

Thank you Fowler.....Some good news for once.

I gave up any hope of him playing again this season after he was stretchered off the pitch on Tuesday...my main hope however was that he would be back in a few months for pre-season training because let's face it, if he's this good without any pre-season imagine how amazeballs he could be with Klopp moulding him properly into what he wants. I didn't want him missing a 2nd one in a row.

Also on a related note, our English players usually get injured whilst on International duty and miss out important games for us as a result. Even if he had made it to the WC unscathed I was half expecting him or one of our other players getting injured out there, now the situation is reversed. How do you like them apples Mr. Southgate?

So the guys who guessed it was ACL and out for 9 months got that wrong...

That's the thing - everyone was just guessing and jumping to conclusions based on nothing but Worst-Case-Scenario projections. Then you have people like Redwelsh making reasoned arguments based on funny little things like evidence and years of experience/research. Funny how that one turned out.

I said yesterday if he's out for the rest of season then I hope he misses world cup too. Selfish but I hate the thought of England getting hold of one of our players who's just come back from injury. They think short term, not long term.

I think Sturridge fall from grace has a lot to do with them.
Thank Fowler we're not getting Caulker

Just gutted for the lad, he's been superb this year. Horrible injury to receive and missing the World Cup is an added blow for him.

Wish him a speedy recovery.

#LFC yet to give full diagnosis on Oxlade-Chamberlain injury, waiting for swelling in knee to go down and further advice from specialist. Ligament damage for certain, but hopeful he has avoided ACL tear, which would be a significant boost in terms of recovery time.

It was never going to be his ACL. He was holding the outer front of his knee/shin area. In my noob opinion having had knee issues myself, it'll be a bad meniscus tear probably causing strain on his LCL.

That’s right Phil.

I’ve got to say I’m surprised by some of the comments exulting over the fact the lad’s out of the World Cup, as if it’s only Southgate who suffers. What about Chamberlain? Didn’t he want to go to Russia or something?

Of course the most upsetting thing for us, and probably the lad, is that he can’t now go on and play the Final in Kiev. Being out of the World Cup too doesn’t make it sweeter.

2nd time a knee injury has ruined his world cup hopes too. I have no love for the England team, but for the player, I am gutted for him, cos you don't get many chances at this tournament. And he was in the form of his life going into it.

But if it's true he'll be back for pre-season, that is a massive relief for us and him!

Ox getting a full pre-season, or close to it, would be fantastic. Obviously joined us well into the current season, so Klopp hasn't had a ton of time to work with him especially as we've been playing three games a week most of the time. It's clearly terrible for him (and us) that he's missing the rest of the season, but that bad luck could result in a better player next season, as Klopp can spend some significant time with him on the training ground.

Keep him hungry. Does us no harm. Wouldn't be the first time we've sent a player off for England recovering from an injury and the geniuses at the national team have fucked up his recovery and sent him back knackered even worse.

Agree with you mate. I've also read reports this morning that ITV are courting him as they would like him to a pundit for them during the world cup. If this is true then I wonder how significant his injury is as surely he wouldn't be travelling to Russia and would instead continue with his rehabilitation here?
