Ok, not being funny or anything, just a genuine question for the fans of the game on here:
what is it about this game that makes it so great/addictive? I don't really know much about D1 or D2, but after reading the comments on here I had a look at a couple of gameplay videos and it just looks like another Haloesque shooter. So what am I missing here? Again, not being a dick, just genuinely perplexed.
I think it's the ease in which you can do what you want that makes Destiny a great game. They have playing areas whereby everyone who is on a server is involved and you can all gang up and kill whoever. They have public events as well within these same areas that allows everyone on to do something together and the satisfaction you get from blasting some massive boss with 10x the amount of HP of a regular boss. The game has been designed so it transitions you from being in a public arena and into a private area if you're on quests as well which is a very clever mechanic.
I think overall though it's doing repetitive things and it never becomes boring that is a real key to it being a great game.
The story line, well for D1, i played from the Taken King arc, so I got the original story line, plus the other 2 (?) story packs & Taken King so i had a bit more content to blast through, whereas the original release, the story mode was quite short and i believe (and peeps will correct me if i'm wrong) that the additional packs didn't get released straight away, but they were done in a staggered approach with the gap being some while?
