For those who have not seen our 5-0 anilahation of forest 87-88? that reminded me of that a bit...

Forest were a decent side at the time, though, weren't they?

Did the Sturridge thread get re-opened?? This needs more attention
How the fuck can he be 10 mins/goal quicker than the best strikers that have kicked a ball for us??!!!

He's insanely good. But I wouldn't be reopening that thread with all the body language experts here  ;D

He wasn't the standout performer but was anyone else loving Lucas' passing today? One great assist and could have had another. Not the player he could have been without that ligament injury but tidy as hell, intelligent and great to have in the squad.

Yep, had an effective game today and terrific play from him for Sturridge's goal.
We have to change from doubter to believer. Now.

Utterly shocked and gutted to turn on and see Origi on a stretcher. The 4-0 is no compensation.

Sorry mate but there is a difference between throwing yourself into a tackle in frustration and a tackle like that with no intention but to badly injure the opponent. One of the most malicious ones I've seen in a while
Yes, it was an awful tackle, and he obviously meant it as well. Only downside on otherwise great night. Don't think I've seen a more onesided derby ever before, it was a pathetic effort from Everton. Laughably bad.

Another lil' interesting stat for you guys, we had 773 touches of the ball last night, compared to Evertons 465.
Coutinho has 108 touches of the ball alone. :o

Aaron Lennon had 15. Think that might be exaggerated.

Well there's a few things to consider, obviously. Rush (20), Fowler (18), Owen (17) were all younger when they first started playing for Liverpool regularly. Sturridge was 23 and coming into his peak. Suarez arguably played in the worst team (out of this top 10) whilst scoring the 50, although I'd argue Suarez was super raw when he came here and improved his finishing a lot towards the end of his time with us. I think Dan compares well with Torres, as Torres played in as good/possibly better side (on average) and was the absolute number 9 focal point.

But the biggest thing Sturridge has got in his favour is that he's done this despite the stop-start nature of his career here so far. That's the most incredible thing.

Sturridge has already got 7 league goals this season, despite spending half the season out. Only 2 behind our top scorer, and he could be our top scorer by the end of the season.  :o

The school of science needs a ofsted inspection.

Worst Everton performance I can remember in the Derby .

They were so Shit, even Lucas fancied getting on the score sheet.

They were so Shit, Klopp was laughing when we MISSED chances.

The stats for this game really are ridiculous, looking at the attempted shots graphic it's a struggle to even count ours much less recall which circle was which chance. Most one sided derby I can remember, don't think we ever had one like this all the way back to the 90s.

edit: Not the xG graphic posted earlier, was looking at a different one.

The school of science needs a ofsted inspection.

Worst Everton performance I can remember in the Derby .

Most one sided game I can remember, they've got big problems. Put their best team out, for what?

As for playing with 10 men, I think we had 10 men away to Palace and came from 0-1 down to win.

Almost (well almost, almost) feel sorry for the decent Everton fans but I would suggest that this means they are in the market for a new manager now, to go with a new centre forward and centre half. Barkley no longer looks like he can be arsed. Wembley should be fun.

Ripped them apart, but feel we should have kept going and utterly obliterated them. I'm of the opinion that they got away lightly there and I for one would like to see us be more ruthless against shite like that.

Hope Divock is not out too long though, but think that's more in hope than anything else. Really thought he'd broken it when it first happened. Has taken the gloss off it a little to be honest though

4-0! Very impressed. Everyone but the groundskeeper will be happy. So many camping in Everton's box will give him something to work with. This was so one sided it's hard to imagine it was a derby. Hope Origi is back soon. Looked bad on the replays. Very impressed with the team. Such a good performance! Once again...

Technically yes, they're 11 points above the drop zone with 4 games left.

Actually its technically 10 (sunderland have a game in hand) and their last game is against the team 10 points behind. Can't see Norwich winning at Arsenal though so they should be safe but if they had not picked up the last couple of points they might have been in deep shit.
