Was just about to say it’s been one-way traffic since then and the only thing missing was the goal…

I've only watched a few games of leverkusen now and definitely not as much as others who will no doubt know better. I'm not sure I'd want any of their players.

Don’t care about their players, it’s their manager I’m interested in.

Wirtz will be going for big money in the summer, no doubt about that, but I can’t think of anyone in our current midfield I’d want him to replace. Frimpong and Grimaldo are brilliant but we’ve got Trent and Robbo so…

Main thing is they look like a team that is a lot more than the sum of its parts and that’s down to the manager.

Who do they play ove in our team? There's a difference in level. I'm not sure wirtz would be as good here and we already have elliot. Grimaldo looks incredible but is too old for us to spend big money on. Only one I think we would go for is hincape.

yeah didn't realise Grimaldo was 28, no way would be in on him, Wirtz would add some depth to the squad. Could play in the Díaz role.

If Xabi does come as manager you would think he might want to make some changes to the  squad though, not vast changes but adding depth here and there
However if something serious happens to them I will eat my own cock.

I'm not trying to take anything away from xabi because this is an incredible job he's doing and he's rightly the favourite to take over. I just don't think we need to look at their players.

probably depends on the price, we certainly wouldn't be paying the figures quoted for Wirtz but I think he would be awesome in our team with better players around him

One of the (many) great things Kloppo did was not feeling the need to go and get a player from his old club. He wanted to move forward and work with new players. I love that attitude and confidence.

Absolutely. In this case it's fairly easy since we have far better players than them. That wasn't the case when klopp came in.

Florian Wirtz is potentially a generational talent, and he plays a position that'll need to be looked at if Xabi were to take over since we don't really play a system under Klopp that utilises that role.

He wanted Reus and Subotic (spelling). But I guess we couldn't afford them in '16/17.

It’s amazing Leverkusen has only allowed 16 GA this season, their defense is very underrated. Bayern’s allowed 29 in second.

No, it's the most assured title challenge I've seen since us in 2020. At no point have they not looked like champions.

Yes, was part of the Southampton team that got relegated a couple of seasons ago.

Seems to be doing OK playing under a decent manager in a well organised team.

Wirtz is not a midfielder, and plays in the reserved number 10 role Xabi uses; Elliot is great, but Wirtz is another level and plays further forward.  Wirtz is younger (by a month) and, whilst Elliot is yet to break into the senior England squad, Wirtz is the best German player by a mile and a strong Ballon D'Or contender in a couple of years along with Bellingham - he is *THAT* good

Yes, and he was playing the Championship with Burnley last season.

Goal! Amine Naifi (Saarbrucken) picks up the ball from a rebound and from the edge of the box he unleashes a shot inside the right post. It's 1:1.
