But at the same time, it's easier to change the manager than to change the whole squad. it should be the managers job to make sure most of the players are on side with him and want to run through a brick wall for him. We just haven't been seeing since we lost to Arsenal. I would no be surprised at all if he has alienated many of the players with his favouritism.
You don't get rid of the whole squad. Just a few to make a message.
Honestly, I don't think it's about them purposely not trying but that some players are just not that good and some others just had shockers. I don't think Kolo is good enough. Neither is Lambert. Moreno should be on the bench. Allen the same. Henderson is a good midfielder - I was laughed at suggesting Herrera is better - but he will never be a leader on the pitch in terms of dictating the play (he'll be a leader in terms of effort) and it's debatable if he'd start so many games in another top 4 midfield.
IMO there needs to be a slight culling. There are too many players at the club who clearly aren't needed and that kind of atmosphere, where they're just biding their time, doesn't instill the kind of competition other players feed off to play better to keep their positions.
Rodgers DESERVES another season. I just hope that if it happens our fanbase just shut up and support him instead of waiting for a setback to pounce on. I think even with buys like Benteke, Milner and Ings...we'll get top 4 with Rodgers.
