They have signed 3 of them though so far though, and haven't signed a striker or a centre half, so it's shitting yourself at something that may or may not happen. What happens if De Gea leaves? No impact?
I'm not saying they won't challenge by the way, but I don't get what would lead you to think they will challenge as it currently stands. What does Schweinsteiger give them that Carrick doesn't? Darmian is a good signing, but whatever anyone says, a right back isn't going to make a significant difference up to 17 points. So that leaves Depay, who is a top drawer signing admittedly.
They will more than likely throw money at it until they do challenge again, and you may well be right when August 31st rolls around, but not at this stage.
