The system we deploy today will be mainly the counter attack, where we will try and get Sturridge and Suarez 1v1 as early as possible with Henderson will support from deep. The wing backs are going to be a lot deeper today, so their attacking influence will be less important than it was last week at home to West Brom - we need them to know how to force Arsenal wide and squeeze the space - it will be more like a back 5.

Rodgers said we were coming here to attack but with tactical discipline. He doesn't want us to be suffocated by the opposition. If what you said happens then why do we need Henderson middle? His biggest asset is energy to press. If we're sitting back then play him RWB.

Wow there is some serious panicking going on in here.

Brendan has made a call that Flanno will do a job for us there, lets see what happens, maybe he is right, maybe not. I'm intrigued as to how this will go. I think they will have a lot of the ball, but we have the two best front men in the league and are quite capable of wining this for us, especially against a relatively static pair of CBs. Have some faith.

If it doesn't work, then lets analyse what happened, rather than predict the future now. Who knows we could be celebrating being top of the league tonight?

Not great at how most are nervous when one player misses the game and his replacement comes in. Shows that we need better cover in that position.

If we can't swap Glen for Flanno without such a meltdown we really all should chill out as we clearly don't have the players to challenge for Europa League spots never mind anything more.

Of course we wouldn't have wanted that change but the reaction from many is truly unbelievable.

I've got a really good feeling about this game, not nervous at all, almost as if I know we're gonna win, somehow we will win this game.

Very similar feeling to when we beat Utd 4-1 at Old Trafford, just an inexplicable sense of knowing we're gonna twat these.

We have Kelly or Toure even, while Agger can ome in for CB,  who is far more stronger and has attacking ability, while Flanagan is decent defender but doesn't have much attacking strength.

Think BR is putting Flanagan for purely defensive work, meaning we probably park the bus and try hit them on the counter. Which I fear that we play right into Arsenals hands.
Poor decision when we got Kelly or Toure who is better equipped to be RWB.
Hope Flanagan plays well and proves me wrong but I fear the worst.
The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.

I'll tell you what, Arsenal need that starting eleven to play well because their bench is awful, we have more in reserve.  Tight game won by the odd goal either way.

Rodgers said we were coming here to attack but with tactical discipline. He doesn't want us to be suffocated by the opposition. If what you said happens then why do we need Henderson middle? His biggest asset is energy to press. If we're sitting back then play him RWB.

Henderson is there to hurry Arsenal in possession through the middle of the park with his tenacious pressing style. If he can rush them into loose passes then Gerrard, Lucas and the full backs can concentrate on picking up runners and latching onto the loose passes. Going forward, he moves like a horse at full tilt and this means he can get up and support SAS very quickly from deep when we play on the break.

'Attack with tactical discipline' probably means that we aren't going to try and overload on the attack and are half reliant on them over committing so we can hit them quickly and decisively to try and get a 3v3 situation with SAS and Henderson. Suck them out, squeeze the space around our 18 yard box and hit them with pace and power - best way to beat Arsenal, especially if you have two top class forwards.

Really surprised that Flanno was picked ahead of Kelly, just hope he is given some help out there on the right.

I'm more than happy with a draw, any talk of "making a statement of intent by winning" is nonsense, we do not really need the added pressure of being the hunted at this stage, though it would be great to win.

I rated Flanno a lot (more than Kelly and Wisdom as a RB) when he came into the first team couple of years back and hope this revives his career. He has got a crunching tackle on him and a no nonsense british style. Hopefully he doesn't let the team down today.
