After an okay(ish) beginning - expectations initially being possibly too high! - this is quietly becoming a really excellent show. Last two episode were really gripping and so well structured. Can't wait for next week now. Wasn't really saying that after episodes 3 and 4.

Scene when Mike broke in the house and stole the money was absolutely brilliant. Gilligan is pure genius, the way it's shot along with the music that always fits brilliantly in the sequences, magic.
The biggest problem anywhere in the world is that people's perceptions of reality are filtered through the screening mesh of what they want, and do not want, to be true.

There must have been about 30% less dialogue in this one. Jimmy's breakdown in the office was excellent, probably the most emotive we've ever seen him.

I really like him, this episode, and the show, but I was majorly 'meh' at that for some reason. Not quite sure why?

Apart from liking the acting, I liked that he was doing the right thing despite himself. He's still more Jimmy than Saul. But he is definitely on the way.

Saul Goodman really is a brilliant character.
Manchester United could win fifty titles, but they will always be the Rolling Stones of football. Good, just not quite that band from Liverpool.

This is an embarrassing self-admission but, did anyone else not cop on to the whole 'It's all good man'/'Saul Goodman' thing until it was mentioned on this show?

Never even realized it.

I can't recall it being said in Breaking Bad although it could have been and maybe I missed it. I would have remembered had I heard it.

The con in BCS was the first time I've heard it and I just hung my head in shame.

Yeah, they're hilarious, especially the wife.

"Picture 25th Hour starring Maude and Ned Flanders..." had me cracking up. Though I presumed he meant the 2002 film starring Ed Norton. (quite an underrated movie IMHO, that flew under the radar somewhat).

This reviewer seems to think it was a reference to the 1967 film starring Anthony Quinn.

I thought the same as you, and it fits perfectly. I've never heard of the other film, to be honest.

Do they mention a film or have him quote a film in every episode? They did...was it Network in the first one. "Here's Johnny!" in the second, "It's show time!" in the third...

That's a really fantastic line.

I agree, it fits better with the Spike Lee film doesn't it. I think it's a reference to that film's brilliant ending too, which makes the joke even better, after what the Kettleman's had previously done.

I'd have to agree with the reviewer that it's unlikely to be the 2002 film because BCS is set in 2002 itself isn't it? And just Google'd that the Ed Norton film only came out in December of that year.

Definitely agree with you guys though that it fits well with the modern film though!

Can't say I've ever heard of the 67 film either.

Thought that also.

Also regarding Chuck, thought he might have OCD... which really wouldn't impact is ability to do case work. It appears now there could be a lot more wrong with him, there's no way he can work on this with Saul.
