If we hit the right note in attack I expect we'll have them shattered by halftime.

Just read the Palace forum, they've got massive injury problems with only one fit CB,  they're rushing first teamers back from injury to play. They've called up two youngsters as well. The guy who got sent off at Old Trafford that sounds like a Pokemon won't feature either as he's injured.

I'm confident, they're going to play Jedinank (sp) at CB and he's not very good. Time will tell if Stuarez can do it.

Yeah...I heard their best 2 centerbacks are out. I have no idea who they are though.

Would like us to score early as that will force them to come out and I can see us getting a few more as they leave space behind.

3-0

First half Toure goal followed by lots of pressure.
Continuing into the second half until you're nearly out of fingernails before Suarez applies a little magic, then Sturridge grabs the third before he's taken off having earned his pay check!

Job done.

Time will tell if Suarez can do it.

You set extraordinarily high standards. He's just had a baby, don't you know, yet you want him to make runs, passes, feints, take shots, create space to make the Crystal Palace players look simply like Crystal Palace players, as if a he's so much better player than they are, and as if he is capable, willing, happy, desirous, and utterly compelled to prove it, with a large smile. Pregnancy suits some people, it is true. Time will tell, but you have me convinced. Victory, with more goals than them, too, that's my prediction.
It is a machine. It is more stupid than we are. It will not stop us from doing stupid things.

Nope that is David Moyes
I watched a YouTube video and decided that Paul Konchesky looked like a player.

Got a great feeling today. Gerrard will dominate, and Henderson will be a monster in central midfield.
3-0 with Suarez freekick, Sturridge goal and Sterling with a late one.

Hope to see this team:
----------- Mignolet
----- Sakho - Skrtel - Agger
Toure ---------------------- Enrique
------- Hendo - Gerrard
------------ Moses
-------- Sturr - Suarez

The right wingback is the problem IMO, Toure is not perfect for that role - but I could see us playing with Enrique far up the field and with almost 4 at the back with Sakho/Agger out left.

I think if we put 11 men out there for 90+5 minutes with maybe 2/3 substitutions and all our guys do better passes, shots and saves than their guys, then there is a good statistical chance that there will be a conclusion to the game. Good luck lads, hope you're reading this.

Considering it is our 7th game and we are second our goal difference is pretty indifferent. Would like to see that rise. In fact, the rather dour start to this season as a whole means that nobody has an impressive goal difference yet.

Today is the day to win handsomely.

Isn't 3 at the back at home to Palace unnecessary? Holloway is not a naturally defensive strategist but surely we expect to have the majority of possession in this game and press them out. Even if it allows perhaps Sterling & Enrique to play as high wingbacks I'd expect our CB's to be untroubled except at set-pieces.

This should be a position-securing, confidence-building, pass-practising, goal-margin-increasing, enjoyable game today.

There's an opportunity for whoever comes in settle quickly in an open game of fluid football. If everything goes to plan and we're 2 nil up in the second half he can rest SG and somehow work Ibe in to the game. I'd love to see him get a run out.

Isn't it fucking hard to predict a score?

Please, please, please win and prove that the Southampton game was just an irregularity as opposed to something we should come to expect.

A win would put us top of the table for the day.

A draw, or God forbid, a loss will be a major setback. A huge blow.

Love the optimism ahead of this one..

But lets just temper it a bit eh..

I dont know how many of you saw Palace play United or Spurs.. Saw both of those games and they were right in it until some dodgy referee decisions went again them... Could very well have got something out of both games...

People on here seem to think they are right mugs.. But they're not..

A comfy win by any margin would do me... And then lets hope North London has a shocker..

I'd take any sort of win, obviously I'd love us to pick up the three points playing free-flowing attractive football, but ultimately the three points is all that matters.  I can see Arsenal struggling tomorrow, going into the international break right up there would put us in a great position, especially with a number of players returning to fitness after the break.

We're more than capable of fcking up but Southampton are a considerably better side than Palace.  They've invested in the squad in the last couple of seasons and have a talented manager.  I think Southampton will have a good season, finishing comfortably in the top half of the table.  Palace will get relegated

Can see us putting 4-5 past them.

Agreed. They did ok at Old Trafford a few weeks ago but Utd were (are) shite. With Suarez and Sturridge on form, I can see us tearing Palace a new one. I don't think the wing backs will be doing much defending so it will be the 3 at the back and the rest of the team camped in Palace's half all afternoon. 4-0.

Before the return of Suarez and the emergence of this new striking partnership with Sturridge, I might have been worried that we would see a similar struggled performance as that of Southampton, perhaps based on the notion of Sturridge's variable fitness. But no more.
