So apparently he has got Robinson sent off  ::)
Haha ;D bit worrying how Robinson is making such a habit of getting reds though.

Not really as long as he learns from them. It can be part of the learning curve for some youngsters and better he does it there than here.

Strange decision to loan him out at this stage of the season, when he was an option off the bench or cover should  the likes of Sterling get an injury.  Always impressed when called upon.

The rise of Teixeira has probably allowed him to go out. Brendan has bene wanting to send him out all season. He wants him to get regular games so he can gain the experience that Sterling got when he had to play often. Next season, Jordan will be ready to take that spot on the bench that Moses has been using this season.

Moses is better than him at the minute. Ibe is at a stage of his career where he needs to play and learn more but with Moses, Sterling, Suarez ahead of him he was only ever going to get a few minutes here or there if an injury came up.

At Birmingham he can prove himself at at least championship level and play every week. If he does well then maybe next year send him on loan to a Premier League team or keep him here and let Mosses off.

With 12 very important league games, no europa league, fa cup or league cup there is no need for him to stay here and not develop on the bench

I agree with the decision to send him on loan

he is unlikely to get games for us this season

especially as we only have 1 game a week

Konoplyanka/Another winger may be the one taking Moses's spot. Ibe is more likely to go on loan next season, unless he really burns up the Championship over the next few months.

I think there will be space for both Konoplyanka/another winger and Ibe in the squad. With European football as well as a high probability of going further than Round 3 in the Capital One cup there will be plenty of games to go around. We aren't exactly stacked in terms of wingers after Sterling, and I can't see Moses staying based on how little action he's been getting.

I don't want to derail the thread (this is about Ibe) but where do we really need another winger/Konoplyanka whatever if we get Borini back from loan next season?

I think Ibe will get opportunities in the first half of the season too, as we have a somewhat thin squad right now. We'll have CL + both domestic cups as well as the league next season.

Haven't seen the highlights of this, but great to see the manager's comments on him.

It will be interesting to see how he gets on at this level. He has everything he needs to make an instant impact, pace, strength, skill and an eye for goal. He needs playing time so I hope he takes this opportunity by the scruff of the neck.

The production line is really starting to get into its groove now isn't it. Especially in attacking positions. In the next few years we have Wilson and Kent to look forward to as well. The academy is doing one hell of a job.
Roger Scruton was right about everything.

On the bench again today, away at Ipswich. I wouldn't have thought it'll take much to see him come on after the impact he made from the bench last week.

At home to QPR next week, fitness permitting, I'm sure he'll be unleashed from the start of that one.

Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

Underestimating Sterling's potential there lad. In hindsight Ibe could have been used and been more effective than Moses off the bench the season just gone. Hope he has a solid pre-season so he can cement his place in the squad.

Sterling could be one of the premier league's best attacking players as soon as next year. If Ibe can even have an impact like Sterling did in Rodgers first season it would be a huge step forward.

Early doors for that kind of talk, but Ibe looked very accomplished on the field today. I expect to see him involved heavily in pre-season and either seeing some early competitive action if pre-season goes well or out on loan to a premier league club.
