Why isn't this on the Xbox?!  :(

Because Sony own Naughty Dog.

Still yet to finish Uncharted 3 after my HDD packed in. Will look forward to this after I finish UC3.

Nothing new though, Polygon have been biased towards MS throughout and much of Microsoft's internal info comes through Polygon.
Football without fans is nothing.

We've won 18 titles, 5 European Cups, 7 FA Cups, but today must be the greatest victory of all.

Reviews from pretty much everwhere saying it's wonderful, gritty, and just plain great.

Will preorder it soon
Pretty happy with Arse taking it.

Disappointing.

I really hope you end up developing a father figure role between Joel and Ellie, similar to The Walking Dead game, that you feel so much for her and all you care about is saving her.

And something happens whereby the plot twist is that you're the baddie after all or you have to kill her or something, to really wreck people's heads.

I haven't a PS3 at the moment, but I might treat this like a TV show and just watch the Let's Play of it, get my TV fix.  It's going to be amazing - from the moment that first trailer was announced (feels like a lifetime ago) I have been gagging for this, wish I had my PS3 back.

damn, i thought ni no kuni was bad at 22. thing is, don't you need double the space when you download. you download the file of say 35 gb, then you install the 35gb file (taking you to 70gb) and then the ps3 system deletes the initial 35gb downloaded file, unless they changed it....

only for legit downloads from psn, this isn't legit ;)

but in theory if they release it on psn then you'll need double the space, sabnzb says the download is 36,412mb, got just under a hour left

Naughty Dog’s Max Dyckhoff (Programmer), Doug Holder (Visual Effects Artist), and Reuben Shah (Environment Artist) conducted an IAmA on Reddit today where they shared some intriguing details about the highly praised, The Last of Us, as well as their thoughts about the PS4, the chances that we’ll see Nathan Drake in the future and Polygon.com’s critical review of The Last of Us.

Ahead of the release of The Last of Us reviews have been extremely glowing. Programmer Max Dyckhoff stated that he was up until the wee hours of the morning refreshing this Neogaf review thread anticipating any leaked reviews. Among the dozens of critiques The Last of Us has received this week, Polygon’s 7.5 score may be the most talked about.

When the question was raised about the review during the IAmA, Doug Holder and Reuben Shah’s response to the opinions expressed by Polygon were pretty classy:

Holder: “I like what was said in the text. The reviewer seemed to be emotionally impacted by the experience of the game and the result was that it was not fun for them. By “not fun” I took that to mean it was difficult to experience some of the things in the game and it left a big impact on them emotionally and that wasn’t their cup of tea.”

“They maybe expected something more uplifting and the reality of our vision in this post pandemic world is just not so. Human nature is a scary thing. The reality of such a world would “not be fun”. A perfect score would have been lovely but everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that’s important to us.”

Shah: “Everyone is entitled to their view… even if it’s not what we want to hear/read.”

On the subject of the PS4, Max Dyckhoff had this to say:

“I think the PS4 is pretty awesome. I actually know very little about it, been too busy working on TLOU, but what I saw at the announce makes me excited.”

“I am super excited about the PS4,” he added in a separate response.”The announce back in February was new to me as everyone else. The hardware is bad ass, the games they showed look beautiful, and I have a lot of confidence in what will be shown at E3.”

Lastly, even though The Last of Us is just over the horizon, the Uncharted trilogy remains on the minds of many fans. A Reddit user asked, “Will we see Nathan Drake any more?” Dyckhoff responded.

Max Dyckhoff: To be determined!

Brilliant response that. The reviewer saying they wanted a fun, superhero-esq style game with good payoffs so they punish the game through their review because this game attempts to break out of this and the often restrictive and clichéd medium that videos games fall into in terms of building a narrative experience.

It's not even a final build in the video either, as the icons for gun/health are different.

5 hours in. Love it. There's definitely a strong link with uncharted but the pace is much more measured, appropriate to the theme. Was funny last night as me and a mate were passing the pad, I was stealthy on my way through everything and he just broke out the molotovs! Seems like you can take either approach although he got killed a lot more than I did.

There's a kind of spidery sense thing where you hold r2 and its a bit like eagle mode in assassins creed, you can hear people's locations if they move, so was using that a lot to sneak by the enemies.

It looks simply stunning, many breathtaking moments in ruined cities, love it.

I like how scarce bullets are in this game. So you cant just run and gun like say uncharted (not saying Uncharted was bad, actually loved it). But in this one you have to think more about which path to choose and what to do.
