Just been revealed on the VGA's. Developed by Naughty Dog!

Survival horror type game from the trailer, graphically looks amazing, uncharted meets i am legend.

If its anywhere near as good as Uncharted ill be getting it.

Only thing that puts me off is the zombies. Don't really enjoy zombie games generally, although the elements of this in Uncharted were bearable.

It's not that Uncharted, Crash Bandicoot and Jax and Daxter are bad games/franchies, it is that they're just not all that great in my opinion. They're all kinda vanilla and seem too similar to other games, Crash Bandicoot -> Sonic the Hedgehog, Jak and Daxter -> Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted -> Tomb Raider.

That being said, i'm not going to entirely write off this game, but I don't see Naughty Dog as that great of a developer.

Didn't Jak and Daxter come out before Ratchet and Clank?

And Uncharted shares more with Gears of War than it does Tomb Raider.

Jax and Daxter was out on he N64 iirc, long before Ratchet and Clank.

Have to admit, that trailer is shit though.

Fair enough. Have to disagree on Uncharted as for me they've been highlights on the PS3 at each stage of its life. There are other games I've probably enjoyed more overall but they're top class.

As for The Last of Us it'll be interesting to see if it is as linear as UC3. The view at the end gives the glimpse of a wide area to explore but we'll see if you really get the chance.

I still dislike zombie games though.....

I like how the reference Dead Island and how that trailer was nothing like the final game, and make it clear this will not be the case. The fungus in the game is based on the Cordyceps Fungi in planet earth.

Looks fantastic though, love the post apocalyptic survival genre when done right and the inclusion of a teen girl to protect and who helps you makes it seem quite dynamic.

I hope the game doesn't become too linear, though I appreciate the cinematic narrative is what made Uncharted amazing. Just that from what I've seen the girl who's with him seems to direct a lot of his movements / the plot.
