Newcastles’ Saudi colours away shirt for next season

Lack of sponsor is probably down to the accountants working out how to be able to substantiate a £100m per season deal with Aramco.
And all the world is football shaped, It's just for me to kick in space. And I can see, hear, smell, touch, taste.

I’ll pay the extra money to buy an electric car if it eventually fucks these and Abu Dhabi off to oblivion. Along with them lot over at PSG, they’re the most heinous owners of football clubs ever - and that includes war criminals owning teams in the Baltics and dodgy fuckers like Maxwell over here back in the day.

big opportunity Eddie Howe has on his hands going into next season. if he can buy well and keep his job as they inevitably move up the table next year he will have gotten himself a golden ticket to the England job post southgate. really been proven right to have rejected Celtic and waited

Naturally on social media you have daft pricks banging on about other kits being green and white (mainly Ireland)

Pretty sure Eddie Howe will say he's just there to manage the team and doesn't know what anybody is talking about. His team could be wearing Kafiya's and wrapped in the Saudi flag as they come out the tunnel and it's just all the same according to him. Nauseating.

'Newcastle kit sharing Saudi colours would be sportswashing, Amnesty says':-

Leaked images suggest white and green away kit next season
Newcastle appoint chief executive of Saudi golf to their board

www.theguardian.com/football/2022/may/13/newcastle-kit-sharing-saudi-arabia-colours-sportswashing-amnesty

'“If it is true that Newcastle United is changing its away kit to match Saudi Arabia’s national colours, it exposes the power of the Saudi dollar and the kingdom’s determination to sportswash its brutal, blood-soaked human rights record,” Felix Jakens, Amnesty International UK’s head of campaigns, said.

“Despite all their assurances of a separation between the Saudi owners and the club this seems like clear evidence of the regime using Newcastle to portray a positive image.

“Everyone – from fans to champions – needs to resist being part of Saudi Arabia’s propaganda drive, be aware of what is going on there and speak out about the government’s abuses: the mass executions, [the journalist Jamal] Khashoggi’s murder and dire situation for LGBTI+ people. Sport must not be allowed to be used like this.”

The successfully sportswashed fanbase are falling over themselves to defend it, what a shock.

Read a load of comments on two different facebook posts about this, one of which was Amnesty's stance. Shocking.

I reckon these will be even more unbearable than City fans if they wind up being successful down the road

At least City used to acknowledge their shitness, and even embraced their inferiority complex

This lot seem to have it in their heads that they deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as us and the red mancs because one side of their ground is big

It wouldn't surprise me. They've always been pretty unbearable and weirdly arrogant for a club that hasn't won the league since 1927 and the FA Cup since 1955.

They were going to do all manner of things to us in the 1974 cup final going on what their fans and players were saying too. A strangely entitled and arrogant lot, given their seemingly endless abject failure.

Jordan Henderson has won more major trophies in his career at LFC than NUFC have in the period since 1927.

NUFC the club that lists the Texaco Cup and the Anglo Italian cup as part of it's major honours, along with the times they've finished runners up in the different competitions. Talk about padding it out.

Newcastle having a white away kit really doesn't make much sense. There aren't that many teams playing in white or black to begin with, so bar Bournemouth I fail to see where to use it unless they roll it out for any game no matter if they are at a red or blue team. They obviously can't use it at Tottenham or Fulham.

nice guy eddie, eh

cos eddie howe continually plays the dumb card when asked about the regime backing his club with the 'just football' stance, tho in reality it's just a version of acquiescence, at least now he's shown his hand more openly - from the bbc:

The green and white design has been criticised because of its similarities to the Saudi Arabia national team kit. Last week, Amnesty International said Newcastle wearing the shirt would be "clear evidence" of sportswashing by the Saudi state. Newcastle were taken over in October by a Saudi Arabian-backed consortium. The Premier League approved the takeover after receiving "legally binding assurances" that the Saudi state would not control the club.

"I'm aware of the criticisms. I think from my perspective it's not something I've had any control over," said Howe. "We were very aware when we went to Saudi Arabia that the interest in Newcastle is huge. I know I'm making an assumption here but our kit manufacturers have probably acknowledged that, and hence why we've ended up where we are."

if he did have any shred of respect from football fans, surely that has been washed away with that utter bollocks

utter c*nt, taking blood money, now making pathetic excuses for the sportswashers that are, quite frankly, embarrassing not only in nature but has the finesse of a 5 year old lying

Yeah, Cos I'm sure they were all Newcastle fans in Saudi Arabia and clearly not because the government is likely telling them to be.
