You mean, to get in the champions league?....

Yes, then we will have another full transfer window to further strengthen our squad in order to be ready for a potential title challenge and a Champs League campaign.
Would be even more fun if you could stand up to a hook to the jaw for being a snidey bastard. But then that's reality! No one needs to 'swim or drown' in a coward's paradise.

It seems that UEFA have no precedent and rules for such a scenario. Lets say you are UEFA and presented with a scenario like this. What would you do?

Would you not admit your most highly rated team with the best market appeal? Preferebly one with a winning history and with new owners that have just bought a bunch of players? Or some random team from Belgium or Denmark?

still say this is not the way to go to CL. We dont need charity, too big of a club.

Would feel wrong to be in the CL. I'd rather qualify for next year through a top 4 finish

Turkey's Football Federation has withdrawn national champions Fenerbahce from the Champions League because of an ongoing match-fixing investigation.

On Thursday the Turkish side were due to join 32 elite European clubs in the draw for the Champions League group stage being held in Monaco at 1645 BST.

It is unclear how Uefa will replace Fenerbahce, who are suspected of fixing matches to win the Turkish title.

Runners-up Trabzonspor have also been implicated in the match-fixing probe.

They were eliminated in the the Champions League qualifying rounds and are currently in a two-legged play-off to qualify for the group stage of the Europa League.

The decision was taken after the Turkish Football Federation held an extraordinary board meeting on Wednesday attended by Uefa's legal counsel for integrity, Pierre Cornu.

The Turkish match-fixing probe threatened to play havoc with Uefa's marquee club competition, with Fenerbahce having been scheduled to play six group matches from September to December.

Uefa had warned it would kick out any team proved to be involved in match-fixing and wipe its results from the record.

But they can't give it to Trabzonspor as they've already been knocked out and are going to get done for match fixing anyway.....

So they give it to another team in Turkey??

Or why don't they just cut the crap and give it to us ;)

Getting in to CL after finishing 6th would take the piss, every other team would kick off and I cannot see it happening.

Winning the fucking thing if we do go in would seriously take the piss every other team would kick off but I cam see this happening.

If this crazy fucking rule actually allows us in (1 in a million chance) we will fucking win it and you know it.

I'm afraid I can't! No one knows what will happen. Arsenal, should they lose, and FC Copenhagen have been mooted as the potential replacements, but UEFA should let us know at 7.30pm.

6:38 Eurobot, pls explain this extra CL spot? Thank you!

Wrote this on another forum...

Quote
This, if they have an opportunity to bring us in without any controversy I'm sure they'd love to, I bet they are all cheering us on this season hoping we get 4th ahead of say Spurs because Liverpool = worldwide = ratings = money for UEFA.

I'm sure they'd want us in it over say Trabzonspor...

Right, we are, but that doesn't mean that'll be how they pick a team.

Understood, just curious.  If they wanted to be completely unbiased (ahem) and pick a team from anywhere that had the highest coefficient but wasn't in the CL this season, it could very well turn out to be us.

But who knows, we'll find out soon enough.

It would be amazing if we got put in, but because we were the 5th team from England, we weren't separated from the rest in the group draw and hence were drawn in the same group as the Mancs.

Never in a million years, but it would be immense.
