I did like their first couple of albums but I can't understand how they've turned into such a ridiculously popular band. I thought by now they'd have grown some balls and tried writing something a bit different but they're sticking to the same old shit instead.

The new single is the best they've released since anything off their 2nd album. Love it.

Haha ;D

I really really like them and they definitely one of my favourite bands out there. The new song is all right. Nothing spectacular.

They didn't even try to hide it this time though, Peter Allen gets a writers credit on the single.

Dont agree with that ,X&Y was a very good album , this latest offering dosent come close to Talk or Speed of Sound or Low in my opinion.

That have virtually admitted this is a take on a song by Peter Allen , so have they just got lazy or run out of ideas? The new album might be very good , but going by this new song im not getting excited which is a shame.

I hated the bland X&Y and thought the singles from it are among their weakest offerings. Viva La Vida was a real return to form.

They've had the brains to realise they can't compete with or even try to follow Radiohead anymore and gone for a straight U2 rip off.

Nice pop song though, like the majority of their stuff.
When your Mum used to pick you up from school and you'd run out and be like 'Mummy I got 9/10 in the spelling test today', would she go 'phenomenal, son'.

I agree with that, X&Y still a good albumn but was weak after a rush of the blood to the head, Viva la vida was a return to form but this new song seems much like the poor viva stuff, if the new albumn is a weak one, the pattern will be that every time theyve gone straight back into the studio after a tour, they produce a worse albumn, viva la vida was after a long break and i think a rush of the blood to the head was aswell, X&Y and the new one both come after touring

You'll remember them of course. But I don't think too many will be playing their songs for too long when they've gone. Their music just seems utterly disposable to me, you listen to it a few times and you move on as soon as it starts dropping places in the charts. I'm probably wrong, but hey ho.

I think that their new stuff is bland and boring. I also thought that their last stuff was bland and boring. They're capable of a decent tune occasionally, there are moments when i think i may enjoy it, but even then I tend to get bored of it quickly. It's elevator music for euthansia clinics.

Coldplay are a funny one.

You think they're not really your cup of tea and then youre listening to the radio and  you start humming along to the tune and suddenly realise it's coldplay and that with your "coolometer" turned of they're bloody catchy.
“Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
“Generosity always pays off. Generosity in your effort, in your work, in your kindness, in the way you look after people and take care of people. In the long run, if you are generous with a heart, and with humanity, it always pays off.”

First album ''Parachute''was decent with a couple of good songs in '|Yellow'' and ''Trouble''
Second album ''A Rush of blood to the head'' was a blinder.Inspirational stuff.Listen to it quite a bit..Love it from start to finish

Stopped listening after that,Just got boring and a bit one dimensional.Maybe because rush of blood was so good the rest paled in comparison but I dont think so.
Think they just got crap..

The whole running gag about them being boring etc. is well, boring. They have written some great songs, 'I loved A Rush of Blood To The Head'
and 'Parachutes' of course but things went a bit downhill after that. They're also a fantastic live act.
You can bet plenty of the people that come in to say how dull they are etc. have probably gone to see them live at some stage or have a record or two of theirs, otherwise they wouldn't be bothered commenting on them would they. I really liked some of their old stuff, don't like the newer stuff which is too commercial sounding and lacks any soul.
It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.
