Foden is a weird case, he was the player of the tournament and apparently most talented in the squad of the England u17 team that won that tournament last year, yet all the other top talents have now moved themselves into first team football (Brewster unlucky to miss out this season). He however seems to get 10 minutes when they are 3-0 up and everyone says how brilliant he is.Now City seem to be looking at some other the other young forwards in Europe to bring in to that squad.
Is he a Carling Cup Wonderkid or is he actually going to be used sometime soon?
He's a midfielder isnt he? But you are still correct, they are being linked with signing midfielders too!
He is only 18 though, will turn 19 at the end of the season. And he could end up playing 900 mins or so this season, I guess that is pretty good considering the team he is on?
Who knows long term, I guess the summer will be telling, if they end up spending a fortune on midfielders, that may be a sign he needs to get out of the same as Sancho. Of course, Foden did sign a new contract, and he is a local lad, so the choice may not be as easy as it was for Sancho, who had no ties to the club.
With Fernandinho and Silva being 33, and Gundogan not in any rush to commit his future to the club, good chance they will be after midfielders. But if he is as good as claimed, then we'll see how interested Guardiola is in using a youngster rather than a ready made player for that role.
