Love the way KK always gets in little appreciative comments about Rafa and his managerial record whenever he can, classy.
Rafa Benitez: "I'll always keep in my heart the good times I've had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. I have no words to thank you enough for all these years and I am very proud to say that I was your manager. Thank you so much once more and always remember: You'll never walk alone."

Wonder what the chat will be today.

Hopefully Vinny (Sky) will ask some stupid questions about Kenny and Wenger.

King's reply to Juve on being in good terms with us and possibility of getting Aquilani on cheap:

Quote
“When people talk about next season, I’m surprised they don’t give Alberto a mention,” he said. “Everyone seems to have forgotten about him.

“I know he has done really well at Juventus this season. When the loan finishes at the end of the season, he reverts back to being a Liverpool player.

“Nothing is cast in stone and he could be coming back to play for Liverpool. He could be a valuable asset here next season. He’s still our player.”

Vinny - Morning Kenny
Kenny - It is Vincent, well done.

Special mentions to Ged.

On a side note, Kenny has had a haircut and seems to be sporting a snood.

It's great to watch the press conferences without cringing (Hodgson) or feeling helpless and angry at the snide comments from the xenophobic reporters (Houllier & Benitez). Kenny's press coferences are a breath of fresh air and it amuses me no end listening to the sycophantic drivel from the same reporters! there seems to be a mixture of respect, caution and sometimes fear in the demeanor of the press of late.

Liverpool facing crucial summer spending decisions, says ambitious Dalglish

Kenny Dalglish believes Liverpool are facing one of the most important summers in their recent history.

The club's excellent form since Dalglish returned as manager in January has fired belief that they could mount a sustained push for honours next season.

But although he has been encouraged by the work that has been done, he points out that Liverpool still have significant ground to make up on their rivals.

As Fenway Sports Group, Liverpool's American owners, are not going to employ a transfer policy like that of Manchester City or Chelsea, the need to make the right signings is paramount.

Dalglish does not think major surgery will be required but hopes the emergence of young talents John Flanagan, Jack Robinson and Jay Spearing does not mask the fact that investment is needed.
'Every football club knows where they stand at the end of May - you know what you need,' said Dalglish. 'The better the business, the more successful the club is going to be. That just does not mean buying players and letting players go, it's about developing what else you have.
'It's important that there is room for development for players but it's also important that you don't use it as an excuse not to spend money.'
Liverpool have won 23 points since the middle of January - a tally only Chelsea and Manchester United have bettered - and are in contention for a European place. Most importantly, however, harmony reigns at a club that had been fractured prior to Dalglish's return.
'I think the best phrase to use is work in progress,' he said. 'That is for everybody - the owners and the football side.
'This club has always been about everyone singing from the same hymn sheet and that's what it is at the moment.

'The longer that continues the better chance we have. If you diverge you have no chance.'

Apart from him being a whopper and a Blue nose?!

Andy 'transfer gimp' got it both barrels too and he doesn't give Shreeves an easy time. I fucking love him for it

A) Because of how they treated Rafa
B) Because they fucking deserve some of their own medicine
C) Because I can't stand most of them (Natalie is the exception)
D) Because of their United / Ferguson love in

He is boss and gives them short shrift because that's all they're worth. I expect Kelly has painted a picture of who is a prick and who isn't i.e. Most of them

I am absolutely sure that Kenny will buy the best possible players within a given budget. I trust him as I did trust Rafa. He has his flaws, just like Rafa had, but they are both top quality. End off.
One thing does need to be said: in the post-Benitez era, there was media-led clamour (but also some politicking going on at the club) to make the club more English; the idea being that the club had lost the very essence of what it means to be ‘Liverpool’. Guillem Ballague 18/11/10

Watched the presser live this morning online. Kenny was on form as usual, but I don't know if they'll include when they put it up for viewing, just as Kenny sat down, before it even started, he had words with Vinny O'Connor over the wording of some headline on the Sky Sports website.

"Vinny, on your website today. I didn't 'demand' anything. On the headline.'

'Sorry, Kenny, I'll get onto it'

It was beautiful to watch, the phrase 'not suffering fools gladly' in perfect action, and to hear Vinny (he calls him 'Vincent' like a school master telling off a disobedient pupil) squirming in embarassment as Kenny ribbed him, held him responsible for the petty shithouse headlines of the SSN website.

The aura and atmospherics he brings to our front is fearsome, irreplaceable and priceless.

"My idea was to build Liverpool into a bastion of invincibility. Napoleon had that idea. He wanted to conquer the bloody world. I wanted Liverpool to be untouchable. My idea was to build Liverpool up and up until eventually everyone would have to submit and give in."
