How do you compare the two? Unless it's "legitimate" financial spending?

Budget wise it's probably a fair comparison, personnel wise as far as the owners go I'd disagree  ;D

Notts County are in pretty considerable debt too for a non league side too

clearly they have money, maybe compare them to Gary Neville's Salford rather than sportswashers.

I'm sure the rest of the league will be delighted to see the back of them both

who?

It’s great, loads of people are weirdly bitter of course, can’t blame them. Imagine seeing a league rival get fantastic owners who become totally invested not just in the club and sport but in the town and region too. The whole thing is just superb for Wrexham.  And they are savvy owners, it isn’t just about putting hands in pockets, it’s about sponsorships and of course the netflix show bringing in money.

Anyone comparing it to sportswashing human rights abuser owners who don’t give a shit about the city or the club they own need to give their heads an almighty wobble.

they are rebuilding the kop, and adding 5,000 to the capacity, so yeah, lot going into that! A lot of improvments been made too generally around the ground. I’m sure some decent cash went to getting a top coach/manager too to begine the journey with, but hey, why not  :D

It really is amazing for a town (now city!) like Wrexham, can only be happy for the fans, what they went through with that club.

So just wondering what had happened.

Sounds like they just had someone come in and actually start spending some money, in an allowable way, to get them pushing forward.

Oh and £200,000+on relaying their newly laid pitch, not sure if that's the total or if it cost £400,000.

They didn't fuck about though & ripped it up and relayed without thinking.

Money in which they are generating fairly, Ryan Reynolds is a marketing genius. Theyve grown immensely due to the TV Show and Ryan Reynolds brand exposure

So yes they spend more than other National League teams, they also generate way more income.

It really is amazing for a town (now city!) like Wrexham, can only be happy for the fans, what they went through with that club.

Quite - the club ended up not too many years ago in the hands of shysters on a par with Hicks & Gillette - property developers who were only interested in the ground and training pitches. The club was saved from final administration and winding-up, via the High Court and appeal court, who found that Alex Hamilton had ‘improperly’ gained the freehold to the ground. Local car dealer Neville Dickens took over ownership, and eventually, a Supporters Trust which, until the current owners, was in control of the club.

The club is the 5th oldest professional football club in existence, and the first to stage a full International.

Notts County incidentally are even older, and it would be a travesty imho, if either were denied promotion this season because of the farcical situation where there’s just one automatic spot. It’s a nonsense that the playoffs system - just a moneyspinner to eke out an already over-long season - should so frequently witness a team on a run of form squeak into sixth place - 30 points behind a psychologically bruised runner up, and yet gain promotion over a clearly superior team. It boils my p*** to be honest.

looks like he’ll also be part owner of Ottawa Senators NHL team soon too.

But he for sure knows what he’s doing!

I just love how emotionally invsted him and Rob McElhenney are too with Wrexham, it’s actually great to see with owners, goodness knows we all know about the ones who stay away!  These 2 have just gone all in. They bought the club during covid lockdowns so it was a while till they even got to Wrexham, but they just fell for the place and the people, it’s actually a great story.

I get how other teams’ fans in the league are fed up like, but hopefully Wrexham do now get promoted and they’ll get to see the back of them!

I think Wrexham will climb the leagues quite quickly if they do go up this season. The team they have now would probably hold their own in League One. You look at what Luton have done (non league not long ago) and that's without money behind them and a small ground.

No, Smicer07 is from Chester. The next City from Wrexham,  therefore very bitter.

Rob and Ryan use legitimate sponsorships and the Documentary to rise funds.

Theyre also not sportwashing bastards or Islamist dictators.
