they are rebuilding the kop, and adding 5,000 to the capacity, so yeah, lot going into that! A lot of improvments been made too generally around the ground. I’m sure some decent cash went to getting a top coach/manager too to begine the journey with, but hey, why not
It really is amazing for a town (now city!) like Wrexham, can only be happy for the fans, what they went through with that club.
Quite - the club ended up not too many years ago in the hands of shysters on a par with Hicks & Gillette - property developers who were only interested in the ground and training pitches. The club was saved from final administration and winding-up, via the High Court and appeal court, who found that Alex Hamilton had ‘improperly’ gained the freehold to the ground. Local car dealer Neville Dickens took over ownership, and eventually, a Supporters Trust which, until the current owners, was in control of the club.
The club is the 5th oldest professional football club in existence, and the first to stage a full International.
Notts County incidentally are even older, and it would be a travesty imho, if either were denied promotion this season because of the farcical situation where there’s just one automatic spot. It’s a nonsense that the playoffs system - just a moneyspinner to eke out an already over-long season - should so frequently witness a team on a run of form squeak into sixth place - 30 points behind a psychologically bruised runner up, and yet gain promotion over a clearly superior team. It boils my p*** to be honest.
