Suggested it before but it seemed to go unnoticed but could we not organise a massive march through the city centre to the ground?  Every one takes their anti-G&H banners, sing anti-G&H songs and pins up the anti-G&H leaflets/posters to every tree, lampost, person we walk past. Would guarantee local news coverage, maybe national (depending on the scale of the march).  Organise something for July time (better weather will probably get more people out), which will give us plenty of time to get the ball rolling and make people aware?

We definitely need to get in amongst them, but that's a tricky one to pitch right. Suggestions on how to tackle it?

We can start with the easy wins and that's the plan for now - news to follow soon.

If you can help on this that would be great mate. We have contacts on point across the pond, but any help we can get woudl be great. I emailed bloggers the other day, and the more we can get into the minds of fans there the better. Clearly getting coverage there would help.

I know he says it's an invasion of privacy, but it's bollocks. He couldn't give a fuck about anything but cold hard cash.

Well, my post on here was for people's views on my suggestion but I've also stuck it on the SOS Facebook page.  It wouldn't  do any harm would it?  I know we've had marches to the ground on matchdays before but imagine a mass march right from the city centre and the attention it would get.

This thread has moved on alot recently. As I've said before I'm no use on the art front and am in awe of Kit's efforts.

I've been out and about today and having read the thread earlier re logos I wondered whether there's any mileage in these? I liked the increasing cup sizes  ;):

Very good idea IMO.  Possibly link that up with my idea of a march from the city centre to Stanley Park where a mosaic can be held up or everyone releases a black balloon?  Lots of e-mails to the media beforehand to let them know what we're going to do and they'd surely have helicopters out on the day?

All we need is lots of people, lots of banners, lots of songs and one man at the front with one of these...

Both great ideas. I'm sure there's plenty of sites we could spread the word on if we decided to go ahead with this, and should SOS want to endorse it then they undoubtedly have an extremely large member base which would be a huge help.

We need planning, funding, ownership and maintenance, etc etc etc. Or we can park it for what is a summer campaign, and on a subject where earlier in the old thread (Flake's posts) the SOS guys said they were looking at a solution. At the moment we can get on without it, so I reckon it's one to park for now. But I'm happy to be proven wrong on that if people disagree.

Hicks made open claims tonight that it's 'just a minority group with an agenda'. That's what we're out to prove wrong. If you managed to make a big march happen, then it'd be a resounding statement. But regardless, we can keep the focus on increasing that unity and support. It feels like the momentum's building nicely without any extra help, but we can boost it.

Have made the suggestion on the SOS Facebook page and have also sent the idea as a direct e-mail to the SOS.

4th July would be a good day to do it.  Independence Day and gives us enough to time to organise and spread the word.

Imagine a unified band of 500,000 Liverpool fans, all angrily opposed to the owners? The LFC Facebook page boasts 1.4m people who follow it. Imagine 1m of them uniting against the owners?

It's worth fighting for.

The only problem Roy is that it only works if the basic premise is correct. The premise being that Hicks would be unhappy with 500,000 people being opposed to the owners. I have a horrible feeling he would be delighted absolutely delighted.

I think he is like a shock jock he revels in being hated as long as it increases his audience. As long as the consumers us the fans carry on handing over our dough he will be delighted that that half a million people are joining a LFC facebook group.

Let's face it the half a million people joining the group are the very people he expects to in effect buy the club for him. It is raising the profile of the brand and could in effect increase the value of the club.

I could see the slimy bastard saying to prospective purchasers of course the club is worth £800m have a look at the facebook group that rocketed to half a million members. They are passionate supporters incredible supporters if you manage to get them on your side you will be able to milk them for decades.

They may of hated me but they still handed over their cash.

We need to tackle Hicks the same way we tackled Cohen, for me they are of the same ilk. Cohen absolutely loved the initial reaction to his comments, that is why he made them to raise his profile and boost his listening figures.

We defeated Cohen by getting at the people behind him his advertisers by cutting of his source of funding. We need to do the same with Hicks no amount of personal attacks will get rid of him, we need to cut off his sources of funding.

1. us the fans, we need to stop handing over our money for tickets, merchandise and kits etc

2. We need to make it clear to the RBS that they are propping up a failed business model and that we will not stand for them lending the Yanks more money they have no intention of paying back.

If we just carry on attacking Hicks and Gillet without cutting of their funding all we may be doing is promoting the brand and increasing the asking price. Given that any prospective purchaser is more than likely need to borrow money all we may be doing is increasing the debt placed on the club.

As we speak the Yanks are continuing to siphon money out of the club through their Cayman Islands front company and charging the club money for non-existent work on the new stadium.

I think what you are doing to inform the fans of what is happening is absolutely fantastic but just ridiculing two people with skin as thick as a Rhino will never be enough.

I really hope when you raise an army as someone else said you target more than Hicks and Gillet's reputations.

No - and that's an important thing to clarify if people do think that's the premise Al.

The premise is not to make Hicks feel this way or that. Hicks is a cold-blooded reptile. We need to accept that.

The premise IS that by coming together as fans in massive numbers and under one unified banner, then there will be scope to:

- influence the media (we're already doing that - look at SOS's response in The Times)

- influence the policy makers (it might help)

- organise the kind of mass action that gets results and is impossible to dismiss (boycotts, mass marches, that kind of thing - pie in the sky so far, but now people want to make it happen)

- ensure that consultation is baked into future (and I'm talking long long long term here) ownership at the club, and that the fans are given an appropriate stake.

I doubt we'd have the resources to strangle Gillett and Hicks on their own turf the way we did with Cohen. The idea here is to start by laying the foundations. People are still posting on the fucking transfer forum as if we have money to actually sign players (which basically shows you that Hicks can make statements like he did tonight and people will believe him). That's the target. The ignorance, the apathy, and the misplaced anger. We want 100% focus on the fact these parasites are sucking the blood out of the club. That'll do for starters. Anything beyond that? It's maybe not for this thread.

Cheers Roy I agree with your sentiments 100% but time is paramount emphasis needs to be put on hitting the Yanks in the pocket now. It's season ticket renewal time and the new kit is out we need to cut off the Yanks revenue streams and crank up the pressure on the RBS.

As for the Knobheads discussing buying players and the new kit it just shows how dumbed down some of our fanbase has become.

It must be hard for some of them though because Hicks words have been repeated on SSN and are about to become part of the gospel according to Sky.

4th July Independence day - independence from them - take the pledge - no more money to LFC until they're gone

we have two clubs,  ours and theirs - you can only support one of them - now is the time to declare which it is

get the word out to season ticket holders not to renew - give their names and details to SOS and SOS pledge that when new owners arrive they will insist that those season ticket holders will be given the option to be re-instated - any season tickets bought after that date will not be allowed to renew

but marches etc will only be effective with massive numbers anything else and it will be counter productive - so the massive numbers need to be tapped into - the echo, and the official fan clubs, even the official site

target has to still be to unite as many tribes under the one banner as we can - after that we can sack Rome (again)

We can only lead the horses to water though mate. We can't force people to do these things until they understand and feel angry.

The target is blowing Tom Hicks's words out of the water when he talks to SSN about "a minority group of fans with an agenda who twist the facts". It'd be nice to demonstrate clearly to the world: it's not a minority - it's all of us. And we know the facts. When we get to that stage, we've got something powerrful on our hands.

Anyway, if you can suggest contacts in the USA and practical steps, we can easily take them. Fats did that and we've contacted journos. We also need to list the supporters' clubs.

4th July Independence day - independence from them - take the pledge - no more money to LFC until they're gone

we have two clubs,  ours and theirs - you can only support one of them - now is the time to declare which it is

get the word out to season ticket holders not to renew - give their names and details to SOS and SOS pledge that when new owners arrive they will insist that those season ticket holders will be given the option to be re-instated - any season tickets bought after that date will not be allowed to renew

but marches etc will only be effective with massive numbers anything else and it will be counter productive - so the massive numbers need to be tapped into - the echo, and the official fan clubs, even the official site

target has to still be to unite as many tribes under the one banner as we can - after that we can sack Rome (again)

"The unanimous declaration of the supporters of Liverpool Football Club".

When shit happens and it becomes necessary for fans to stand up for themselves against those that are screwing them over its only fair that they should say why.

We know that all fans are equal and that every fan has the right to support their club as they see fit.

We know that Football clubs were created by and with the agreement of the fans.

We know that whenever any clubs owners act against the best interest of the club that it is the fans right to challenge those owners  and to change those owners if required.

This right to change owners can’t be undertaken on a whim,  usually fans will suffer whatever crap is thrown at them rather than change owners but there comes  a time when the owners have taken the piss just once too often – then it is the right of the fans and their duty to kick out those lying cheating bastards and replace them with decent owners who have the best interests of the club at heart and that’s the point we have reached. The track record of the current owners is abysmal and to prove this let the Facts be stated for everybody to see:

They lied about placing the burden of debt onto the club
They lied about ‘doing a Glazer’
They lied about a spade being in the ground in 60 days
They lied about building a new stadium
They spent club money on fee’s and more fee’s and expenses without any benefit to the club
They claimed to be spending their own money whilst taking the money from the club itself
They’ve failed to regenerate the Anfield area and let down thousands of residents in the process
They’ve undermined the manager with talk of different managers
They’ve argued amongst themselves in public
They’ve abused the fans
They’ve abused the manager
And they’ve abused each other
They’ve dragged the clubs name through the mud
They’ve refused to speak to the fans representatives
They’ve repeatedly ignored the fans pleas to leave
They’ve got rid of anybody on the Board who stood up to them
They’ve failed to secure investment to address the debt
They’ve failed to find new owners because of their greed and asking price
They’ve scraped old membership schemes and upped the prices
They’ve been absentee landlords who’ve barely attended a game
They’ve crushed our traditions and history
They’ve lost their right to ownership by declaring they want to sell and don’t intend to spend a penny of their own money
They’ve stripped assets from the club to pay for their debts

Despite all our attempts to ensure that they were fit and proper owners they have refused to act decently and have shown themselves unfit to be our owners

We have warned the owners repeatedly of what this would mean, we have appealed for justice and honesty but it has all fallen on deaf ears. So now we have to declare our independence.

We, the representatives  LFC supporters everywhere  swear to whatever faith we each hold true, ,and in the name of our fans do declare that Liverpool Supporters are free of any allegiance to the current owners, that any connection between them and the club is finished and that we will boycott LFC until the club is in safe hands

Kiddiwinkles, I'm shite at anything other than typing. Send me emails and I'll happily pass them on to everyone I know. the other thing is you lot can be the creative brains with photoshop and do something like change this Standard Chartered logo to "Substandard Cowboys" or something along those lines.





However, one thing I think I can do quite well is make Onion style parody articles. So anyone with any ideas for me, I'll have a go at it and then it'll be down to you lot to see if you they help in any way.

If any RAWK / red lads are heading out to SA, then maybe a banner or two there for the England V USA game may be picked up by local / World media.

Seriously, any of our lads going over there and we'll well get the cash together on here to get a decent sized banner printed up for them. I'll be the first tenner in if there is. And not just England games, any games featuring our players will do it. I still remember the '82 World cup asking my old man where the "Quiet Man" was because they had a fucking big banner up with them during one of the world cup matches. anything with those two fat lying c*nts grids on is bound to get picked up by the media. We're the fucking flavour of the month with the media vultures right now aren't we?

Right boys and girls. If there are ideas afoot for stuff like this, let's suggest steps we can take to get the ball rolling and help make things happen.

I'll try and focus on writing copy and organising for now so no more pissing about with Photoshop - there's not enough time. I can get emailing people etc so it'd help if we could suggest contacts etc.

This should be worked on, and all the facts should be laid out with a time line. Then it should be posted and all other threads should be closed for at least 24 hours.

Other forums should be asked to do the same thing. And if it's not hard to do for the techy people, then I'm sure some others, like OTK and the Rattle, would jump on board.

Even the daft bastards looking for the new kit wouldn't be able to escape.
