just seen versions of both games being played side by side.

The only difference in the graphics is the PS3 is a LITTLE bit blurry.

They aren't absoloutely shite as some people are making out.

Defo not absolute shite, but having played it for around half an hour i expected better graphics to be honest, would like to see the 360 version out of interest though. Great game btw.

I think the majesty of the graphics lies in the open world, the sky, the draw distance..things like that. The faces, grasses and stuff don't look spectacular..but I doubt they could given the scale of it. Definitely a pretty game though.

Some fun to be had in this, just sped off a cliff driving a stagecoach..oops. Not a double decker either.

Is it worth it, for those of you that have played it for a while?

Really want to get this, but I'm a little short on the cash so I wanna make sure it's worth it.

Slow first 30 minutes, but absolutely loving it now and Ive not really got into the main missions. For 30 quid its well worth it considering the amount of hours you are likely to get from it.

The room my PS3 is in is hot at the moment, had this on twice, last night and tonight, and after about 5 minutes the fans sounded like a jet engine taking off!  :no
Wouldn't mind, but the PS3 is out in the open, so should be at least a little bit cool...

Might wait and play it in winter.  >:(

Me too  :) the fan is fucking loud and my room is boiling hot (its already like 20+ degrees outside). Should be playing this downstairs really. Great game so far though played it for around 3 hours now, i mentioned in previous post how i was a tad annoyed by the graphics but having been out in the wilderness i will take that comment back, the game looks stunning. For some reason though the Macfarlane ranch area just doesn't look as good as everywhere else, or is it just me who thinks that?

Oh and the lasso is badass.

Are the graphics vastly different on the ps3 compared to xbox?

don't think there's too much difference to be honest and i've got both versions, ps3 has blurier textures, not got to it yet on the ps3 version but the main test for me will be when
Spoiler
you cross the river with irish
[close]
i thought that mission was propbably the best looking in the whole game on 360, the water effects and the textures of the rocks looked incredibly real

the main issue for me with the ps3 version is the lod, in the early mission where you drive bonnie from her ranch to armadillo the town seemed to pop up out of nowhere and for a couple of seconds had very bland textures before the actual textures appeared, since then though i've rode down the same road a few times and the town has appeared more or less the same as the 360 version, playing the 360 version last week i noticed a bit of pop up and it seems to be worse on ps3 but not so much that is ruins the game, most of it is when you're going full pelt on a horse and if you're focusing on where you're going you won't notice it so much

one other thing is i've been struggling doing the hunting challenges, on the leaked 360 version i had no problems whatsoever as i found it very easy to find whatever animals i needed, on my retail ps3 version i only seem to find deer and coyotes, after a few hours of playing i'm still stuck on sharpshooter level 2 where you have to kill 5 rabbits (i completed this in a few minutes on 360) and on the hunter level where you need to kill 5 wolves with your knife and collect their pelts, so far i've not seen a wolf anywhere, in the leaked version i could go into the area at the north of Hannigan's Stead with the boars pictured on the map and be constantly attacked by wolves and cougars

my ps3 is on the middle shelf of a tv stand and has at least 6 inches of space either side, i've only had problems with the fan speed playing GOW3 and then it was fine if i put it on the floor clear of the tv stand, had no problems with RDR today and it's a hell of alot warmer than when GOW3 was released

Concerning the Outfits, I've got 4 scraps of the 6 needed for the Bollard Twins one. With the 'defend residents of Hennigan's Stead from Bollard Twins' scrap, do I just have to walk around the area until some BT show up and then kill them, or is there more to it?

Thanks, :wave

EDIT: Done ;D I know how to get them now

I'm at 82.1% completion, and still have a few more story missions to do. The game is seriously addictive.

But i wished now that i had of just played the story missions first in one quick play through and then on the second go around take my time and do more of the side quests.
How long have you been playing the game ?

Does anybody know where this can be picked up in the Bristol area ?  I've tried about nine shops this morning, including Tesco Eastgate and nothing.  My own fault for not pre-ordering I suppose.

So I've heard.... which is gutting for me.

Heard the same for so many cross platform games..with ps3's power you'd think it would be tops. Reason behind it is it's hard to code for (apparenlty)

Went round in a posse with my brother last night taking out one of them gang hideouts and got snipered by someone on a hill, spent the next hour hunting him down wherever he went. Hilarious. Sniped his horse in head as soon as he got on it from miles away. Can you go round in your posse doing the social club challenges??

Well I bought it, but...been busy with sporting spectacles and what not today, and with the promotion playoffs and finding out the CL final is tonight, it was either sneak in half an hour being distracted here or there, or wait until the weekends over and spend a couple hours roaming around on Monday.

Gutted. Be just sitting on the desk, tempting me...

I've done a few missions in mexico and I've spent the last few hours just riding around on my horse doing loads of little sidequests all around the game world.

What a game this is! Got a decent amount of Outfits now, the Poncho one is by far the grooviest though 8)

i dunno what people are on about with the graphics, it has to be stupidly good on the 360 cause I am on the PS3 and they are already amazing!! I would hazard a guess its major game geeks seeing things which you normally would not really pay attention to.

PS: great game, just riding around killing stuff atm and finding stuff its so massive!! awesome just awesome

Game seems to lack structure to me? Dunno if thats a good or bad thing at the moment. I feel like I am going round doing all manner of stuff without making what you would call "progress" in a normal game. With GTA although there were side missions, the general structure of going to the different characters for missions was quite rigid. With this one minute I am killing bandits and the next Im herding cattle with some woman!

My only gripe so far is that a few of the missions have gone on a little too long with the same basic task being required.

Why? If you battered any of the GTA stories - you could finish them all in a week - but that's hardly playing the game. At all.

The whole point of Sandbox games is that you can take your time and experience what you want of them, when you want.

I need a little cash to buy a horse, so rode out of town, put some bait down and killed a few deer. Before I could skin them, a man came up to me about his wife being kidnapped, so I went and saved her, couldn't find the deer again. But while looking a couple of wolves wandered into my path, so got those (a nice $84 or so for each one when traded in) and went back to town. Bought my nice new horse, and then a man come up to me saying he'd just been robbed. So I chased the robber, decided I'd lasso. He was close to a couple of other people and I accidently got one of the other people. I continued after the robber, lassoed him. Before I could hogtie, the person I got accidently runs up to me and starts punching. Can't hogtie while being punched, so I had to let the robber go, who then shoots me dead while I'm being punched and before I could switch weapons. So I died and it was all for nothing :(
