Andy Shack twisted the taps over in a pub called The Tanner (I think it was) on Tanhouse in Skem. He came in my wifes dads pub one day (Derby Arms in old Skem), she was a young 18 year old barmaid at the time. He came up to the bar and said "bitter". My wife said to him "pint?" to which he replied... "do I have to drink a pint?" She replied, not having a clue who he was at the time..."well men do normally drink pints". At which he threw his head back and laughed out loud and said "I'll have an half and get yours girl".
He was though not all bad. Same afternoon my father in law comes back to the pub and on seeing Andy sat there drinking, when he's been barred from almost every pub in Skem he speaks to him and says "Andy, I've no problem with you personally lad, you've never caused me any trouble but I can't have you drinking in here, you'll drive the customers away". Andy said to him, "no problem Brian, I'll drink up and you'll never see me in here again". He was true to his word.
