Can anyone recommend some true crime podcasts - preferably on the longer side of the spectrum? I've been a keen supporter of Sword and Scale for a long time now, but recently they've covered a lot of sex crimes/murders against children and I'm just not listening to shit like that. I think it's a misstep from them and I hope they change tack soon.
Have done the usuals like Criminal, Serial etc if it helps.
Sword and Scale is long off my listen to list to, the guy who runs it is an absolute arsehole. Some of the stuff on the Sword And Scale reddit about him is eyeopening!
Anyway, as for true crime, I tend to listen to one off episides type ones rather than series (although of course, I loved Serial).
Some of the ones I listen too are: In Sight, They Walk Among Us, The Vanished, The Trail Went Cold, Unresolved, Casefile.
My guilty pleasure crime podcast is All Killa No Filla, but that's really not for someone who wants something serious and deep
Crimes in Sport is meant to be good, but not got around to that one yet.
Article here has some others in too:
https://whatpods.com/best-true-crime-podcasts/This sort of fits...but I'd recommend it to anyone. Slow Burn, it's about 9 episodes, covering Watergate. Other crime ones that deal with a single case are Accused, Up and Vanished and Atlanta Monster.
I also listen to My Favourite Murder, but that one definitely won't be to everyone's taste.
I listed to that a lot too, but not in a while - will have to get back to it someday, I moved on to the above mentioned All Killa No Filla, It cracks me up something terrible
