Has anyone ever been camping on Shell Island? Is it worth going? x

yes it is.  Never been myself but I know lots of people that keep on going there.

As the summers on its way and im itching to get the tent out again any more suggestions on good family campsites? The site by Delamere Forest is a cracker, right next to the forest if you want to walk or take mountain bikes, Go Ape is there, theres the visitors centre just down the road if you want someone else to cook breakfast and Helsby Windsurf Centre not to far away if youve got a dinghy or the kids want to have a go on the adventure trail. With the likes of Beeston Castle close by if your from the Merseyside area its perfect if your just getting off for the weekend after work on a friday night.

There are some really lovely sites around barmouth, talybont area. Some right next to the beach, so loads of safe places for the kids to play and lovely rivers walks and mountains etc, the scenery is gorgeous and all the people there are friendly. All different sites, some on farms were you will be woken up by sheep and hens in your field, others right next to the beach, some nothing more than fields with a few trees, and some 5star ones with electricity, lovely facilities and loads to do for the kids.

we've been back there every year for the past 25 or so. Great days out around the area too.

I went camping last weekend, to reach the highest peak of the north coast range here in Venezuela (Pico Naiguata - 2765 msnm), one hell of a journey but it worth every single bit of it.

quick update... Im typing this on my mobile lying on my camp bed. I froze my bollocks off last night, nearly drowned the kids this morning when we got stuck in the middle of a lake in the dinghy when an oar snapped and am now waiting for the tent to collapse in the high winds. Apart from that still love camping!

Went camping last summer with my bird, drove down to La Rochelle in France.

We took a 4 man tent and used on of the bedrooms to sleep in and used the other for storage etc (which ended up being the room where we stored all the ale).

Really enjoyed it, we went the Super-U's and bought loads of lager (bout 40 stubbies for about 7euro's - yer cant beat is!!

The only prob i had was being 6"2 i was constantly bending over which started to aggrovate my back.

We are going to La Parmiere this year (bit further north of Bordeux). This year though were taking my nans caravan, its a smart van too.

A good few years ago a gang of about 8 of us were setting up on a site in the Lakes when the (male) owner came over to see what we we up to. Within minutes of realising we were from Liverpol he said "my wife made a mistake letting you on, if I'd have been here I would have fucked you all off, make sure you show your tickets on the tent" (ticket meaning proof of payment for each tent). So we did, we put them in condoms and tied them to the top of the fuckin pole.

We left the racist twat some tidying up to do when we left as well.

We've had some good times camping, Plas Coch in Anglesey was superb.

My old tent has been the Lakes, Wales, Scotland and Corfu.
