Right... So I've woken up twice now it seems and that wasn't a dream but really happened.

Mind blowing. Not sure if someone is going to tell me it was all an elaborate hoax.

Marco was damned pissed that he refused to acknowledged Klopp's gesture at the end of the game

I thought he did shake his hand to be fair to Marco.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

when do I start calming down about this

All our famous achievements just seem to roll into one, when things are getting a bit dull along comes another miracle, and so it goes on..haha we hardly ever get the chance to 'calm down' !

Who on here once said after a victory that they walked out into the garden, said "very well" then walked back indoors?  :)

Always gave me a chuckle that one.

Haha, not sure who said it but it was after the Fulham game where Stevie scored the late penalty to keep our winning run going in 13/14.

From a football journalist I don't normally rate but, on this occasion, I can't argue with:

Spirit. Passion. Will. Longing. Sometimes raw emotion is enough, after all. Borussia Dortmund had the class, but Liverpool had something more. Something indefinable. Something that cannot be taught in coaching manuals, or captured in replays or revealed by reams of statistical analysis.

Something that lifted them beyond. Something that propelled them towards the realms of the fantastic.
They were beaten. They were done. And then they were not. Somehow, they returned from the beyond. Call it the spirit of Istanbul. Call it whatever you may, for nothing quite compares. This wasn’t even about Jurgen Klopp. This was about Liverpool: a club who never know when a cause is lost, and certainly not in Europe.

Never give up.

So poignant. So timely.

You know had only 4 shots on target. With our usual conversation rate we shouldn't have scored any goals nevermind scoring with every shot

Shows why it was wrong to blame Mignolet for allowing goals on the opposition's first shot on target. 3 out of our 4 shots were clear cut chances and the 4th was a great strike by Coutinho

How have the Dortmund fans taken this? I read on another forum that some of them aren't happy with Klopp at all. Is this true? I hope not. Perhaps one of our German speaking RAWKites would be kind enough to find out for me.

Why?  Did they think Klopp would roll over and let them win cos he was their Manager?

I feel sure I was not the only one during the game to remember Kenny celebrating a goal to win the match against us when he was Blackburn manager. It reminded me of that.

There seemed to be a few at the very front that weren't too pleased to see him - but then they were making similar gestures at the team when they went over. Maybe it's just Germanese for "well played old chap". Or maybe I misunderstood, it was quite a long distance shot on the tv.

Even if I'm right, I guess there will always be a few dicks in any group of people, especially when emotions run high.

I think the Dortmund fans were sound, supported their team, in their way, so some were pissed off ,so what! I had a chat at the bar in town with a few of them after the game and they where cool, disappointed but realised they had been part of something special.

I was interested what they felt about the night so checked out one of their fan forums...I found the in game thread, couldn't understand it as I dont " SprakenzeeGeeermin" but scrolling through it I think I found the point when we scored the 4th as one post just said " Fuck Off!!"

As far as I can tell the prevailing criticism/bitterness (what there is of it) seems to be directed more at Tuchel than Klopp. Unhappy with his substitutions, not changing the shape of the side when things started going badly, etc.

I work (& live) in Berlin.  The match was on Sport1 channel here and had a 2 hour build up.  They really put our history and Anfield into good light and their attitude was pretty much in line with the respect for YNWA, JFT 96 etc.  Pretty much spot on.  They had 2 interviews with Klopp before the match, the lady who hosted was in both away and home dressing rooms - could see all the shirts on pegs etc.  (don't know how they managed that - clearly some time before teams arrived). For match coverage I picked up a stream so don't know much on their reaction during game, but tuned in afterwards and it was all Liverpool.  We are an hour ahead here so roof came off my house close to 11.00pm.  After game - BVB manager comes across as a sound lad and Klopp comes across as mad as ever - Klopp speaks German in fast forward mode - I cant get most of it but they love him here - He's just seen on different planet & this is great for our standing in Germany - suddenly everyone here is tracking our games. -  In work everyone knows I'm a red & yesterday all Germans came to see me and all loved the game - Maybe because it was to me, but they all were really cool as JK would say.  Even BVB fans popped around to check on my hangover.

As a bit older fan it feels like a lot of people see us as a team with an aura around us - Klopp magnifies that for Germans.  And Anfield last night - oh my.  Thought these days were gone....  The lads I work with just couldn't believe that a game can get sucked away like that.

I haven't felt we were are force in Europe since Rafa was working his magic, before that it was 20 plus years ago when we were a real force to be reckoned with & you just sort of knew....  When we scored the third I remember thinking - This is on....

So from Berlin - Seems Europe is sitting up and watching now,  Here in Germany it helps that Klopp is our manager, and they also feature Can which is good for him (and Bobby from his days here).

All in all good couple of days to live here..... Oh and that German beer.........

Didn't blame Ming, in fact the the CB's were at fault, if anyone had to take the blame, remember the to BVB goalscorers had something like 60 goals between them this year and not many defences can handle them,.

For us Orgi's goal was something special, it was the kinda goal they wax lyrical bout if Arsenal score it, for us they didn't mention it.
Coutinho's goal shows signs that he's becoming a very special player, we should build the squad around him.
As for the CB's the pair of them are nuts.

Some of their lot at the front were just generally not happy, they were throwing stuff onto the pitch at the end (saw more than a few flag poles being thrown on) and then they were directing anger at anyone who came over to them, their own players more so than Klopp or ours.

They were a minority though, the majority clapped everyone who came towards their end.

I suppose it's natural some are going to be angry at the way their team capitulated and react that way. I too was fuming after the way we folded against Southampton.
