They gotta ship out MPJ for a good piece and they are in the finals net 3 years.
MPJ is so inconsistent and does not show up in critical games. Even Malone had enough of it and gave Braun the minutes.
Have to agree. Coupled with his defensive shortcomings, and substandard rebounding for his position and height, he's a pretty limited player on offense too. He can't put the ball on the floor and he can't drive to the basket in traffic, so he will always struggle in the playoffs unless he improves dramatically on this (see Jaylen Brown). So basically he's just a glorified three-point point shooter (an inconsistent one at that) with some height at the moment. They are paying him way too much money for that.

His defense is a liability, shooting pretty badly and guess what, most are open looks.
You gotta expect much much more from a 5 years 180M contract player.
His defense has been much improved from his rookie year and been good in the playoffs at times. Yea shooters go up and down. He had bad games
He shot pretty well before the finals(shooting a playoff career low 36.9% with a terrible finals so far). They not trading this talented of a player.

He is Den 3rd/4th options basically and a career 41% 3 point shooter(career 59% from 2) and his rebounding and defense have improved over time. He not a great series. Should not be basing his future on 1 game/series.
He legit had a great game 1 defensive, rebounding etc even if his shot was not falling. Sometimes shots don't fall it happens. He also paid a lot but cap probably not an issue for den right now.

Whoops, didn't realise they were playing today so I just copped a spoiler. I've been watching 8min highlights throughout the playoffs without knowing results beforehand, it's fun. Oh well. Nuggets nailed on to win it in 6.

They ain’t trading MPJ yet. Also Jaylen is up for the super max. Shouldn’t compare the two.

Nuggets win 94-89. NBA championships first ever for Denver. Jokic wins Finals MVP.
Jokic is the first ever player to lead the playoffs in Total Points, Rebounds, Assists.
Murray and Jokic are the first ever teammates to avg 25 plus PPG, 5 Plus RPG, 5 Plus APG.

So unnecessary. Needs to re-evaluate the people around him, but that won't happen. His dad needs to rein in his 'living-vicariously-through-his-son' attitude, but that won't happen. This kid lost out on $40m (bumping his contract to supermax) this past season because he didn't make an NBA All-Star team, and that was likely because of his attitude. 25 games means he'll miss out on individual awards this season, too, so good-bye to whatever incentive money he would've gotten for that (along with the roughly $13 million in lost wages over 25 games). He's the highest paid Grizzlie and is throwing it away just to play dime store gangsta.
Oh, these sour times.

No one admires resilience when you were just plain wrong all along - that's just twattishness.

2024 All Star packages available......quick browse at the costs......9 levels of package, all with tickets to the games on each of the three days then varying levels of add ons.

The 3rd level from the bottom was £6600, the third top level at around £10k - need to call for some of the other levels.

If you wanted just  a ticket for the All Star Game, that'll be £1k.

Was hoping to go for my 50th in 2025.....but going on next years prices, probably not!

I just don't understand this Laker $186M AD extension.

He's injury prone and they had a chance to see what they have this season before making a move for someone younger should they get more of the same, instead no, let's throw money and commit years hoping he'll stay on the court and do something in his 30's.

At times this team seems to go out of its way to burden itself with lengthy contracts for ageing or limited contribution players.

It doesn't matter, their logo ensures they'll always have the pick of the free agents. Milk these two HoFers for all they've got, then wait for the next one. Easiest job in sports.

They not letting him go. They need somebody post LeBron. He one of the best defenders in the NBA as a big. He also a really good scorer.
They dont have their picks to tank with losing him and it the lakers they can get free agents

Not an NBA fan, but reading about the new "Player Participation Policy" adopted - it just sounds insane.  They play 82 games a year - and are now saying that anyone deemed a "star" player, will have stringent rules in how and when they can be rested.  Can you imagine if we had something similar in football?  All this is going to do is increase injuries - seems to be completely short sighted and "revenue" driven

A star player defined as a player who made an all star game or All Nba the last 3 years so about 50ish players but a way fans can come see actual stars more and not missing key players as much team just need to plan it out better. NBA worked on limiting back to back and 4 in 5 games more and more

Looks like the Bucks are going for it.

ESPN: The Portland Trail Blazers are trading guard Damian Lillard to play to alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo with the Milwaukee Bucks as part of a three-team deal that also includes the Phoenix Suns, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on Wednesday.

Portland will receive Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton, Toumani Camara, Milwaukee's 2029 unprotected first-round draft pick, and unprotected Milwaukee swap rights in 2028 and 2030, sources told Wojnarowski.

The Suns will receive Jusuf Nurkic, Grayson Allen, Nassir Little and Keon Johnson.

Seems a perfect match on paper, let’s see how it looks. Lillard was insane last season so I’m sure it will work, but 90-100 games at that level is tough for a 33 year old guard.

Scoot and Holiday is some dogged back court for Portland, although not much scoring. Unsure about Ayton though, his stats have dropped massively since he got his contract but let’s see what they can get out of him a change in scenery might help.

The Portland Trail Blazers traded All-Star guard Jrue Holiday to the Boston Celtics on Sunday, elevating the Eastern Conference arms race.

The Celtics are sending center Robert Williams III and guard Malcolm Brogdon in the deal, they announced. A 2024 first-round pick via Golden State and a 2029 first-round pick is also heading to the Blazers, sources said.
