Great archive site for the veteran festival heads  8)

http://www.ukrockfestivals.com/

I've been looking for a site like this for ages to refresh my memory on the festivals and concerts I went to in the 70's

So far I have seen stuff on Weeley  in 1971 the Stones at Knebworth and the Who at Swansea

Can see me spending more time on there tomorrow to see which other ones I was at

Great find - thanks

Just got tickets for Bob Dylan and Mark Knopfler at the MEN in October

Not sure whether they are performing together or separately with their own bands but should be good either way

Got to see Sir Paul McCartney last Friday at Yankees Stadium.  What an absolutely fantastic show!  He is still the consumate performer.  His performance clocked in at 2 1/2 hours and he played 35 songs.  That's more than double what some performers that are half his age (and younger) are capable of.  Definitely worth every penny.

Just bought a ticket to see Laura Marling playing the Anglican Cathedral in October, enjoyed her at glastonbury so should be even better in a intimate setting.

Think Laura marling is pretty awful. Definitely doesn't do big stages well anyway, maybe its better in a more intimate venue but at green man her annual 45 minutes are a cue for me to head to another stage.

Pretty sure that was my favourite festival I've ever been to. Crowd of 4,000 and not a dickhead to be found.

I'm still on a massive comedown since Monday  :'( and apparently the organisers are still on the piss, fair play to them!

Would recommend it to anyone!

Heading to Green Man tomorrow and i'm about as excited as i ever have been about a music festival. Weather is looking ok (fingers crossed) and more bands than i can be arsed to mention that have made my "must see" list for this year.

Should be a fantastic weekend. Any fellow rawkites making the trek to the Brecon Beacons?

Got back from Leeds yesterday. Loads complaining about the line up but I thought it was alright. Got to see Friendly Fires and Viva Brother as they were on before Pete Doherty on the Friday. Mostly at the NME Stage on the Saturday; The Naked and Famous, Mona, Foster the People, The Vaccines, White Lies then Beady Eye who were awful. Sunday was all about The National who were the main act I wanted to see, Two Door Cinema Club, Madness and Jimmy Eat World were all on before them and of course The Strokes and Pulp after. Bloody great weekend. Highlights were Pete Doherty, The Vaccines and I'm definitely getting tickets for The National's next tour.

As much as I loved Oasis I just can't get into Beady Eye. I never used to like The National at all either, but after listening to their stuff a few times it grew on me. You're right about The Strokes like, bit of a let down for me as well.

I also went, was my 4th year and although the lineup wasn't as good as previous years it was probably my favourite one simply because of the weather. Off the top of my head, highlights were sitting back in the sun on Saturday afternoon watching Easy Star Allstars and The Young Knives. Bit gutted to get home and read that I'd missed The La's secret set though.

Strokes, Pulp, Muse & Vaccines were highlights for me from Leeds.

Was my second time seeing Vaccines/Muse. Both were awesome first time I saw them and both followed suit at Leeds.

Was my first time seeing Strokes, and considering they're my favourite band, it meant a lot seeing them. I loved them (though my voice was gone next morning because of them!). Was right at the front for them. Me and my mates started a few "Julian" chants and they caught on. Julian responded to it just before they finished with Take It or Leave It with "that was weird". :D As you'd expect with a festival crowd, there were a lot of people there for Last Nite/NYC Cops, but that's to be expected. I'll be seeing them again when they tour after album #5.

Pulp were great too. Jarvis is such a legend. I was right at the front when he came out to the crowd with his camera, I reached out to touch him but was literally millimeters away from him. I probably got on the big screen at that point... looking like a right twat, though.

Done Hop Farm Festival in Kent this year, 4 days of baking hot sun and great acts.

Highly recommend it, no people thinking they are at a fashion show like the V fez, and no corporate sponsors or bollox like that.

Seen OCS, The Eagles, Morrissey, Iggy and the Stooges, Bryan Ferry, Lou Reed, Pattie Smith, The Pierces, Young Rebel Set, Larry Graham, James Walsh, Bluetones, Noisettes, Eliza Doolittle, Aloe Blaac, Brandon Flowers and last act of the fez, PRINCE.

Instead of farting I shat on the floor - my brother thought I was demented.
