New Order last night in Birmingham was brilliant.

All the classics and Ceremony from the Joy Division days.

586 , Round and Round and Love Vigilantes were personal favorites.Top gig.

Foster the People in Brixton the other night were great, better than I expected!

Got Watch the Throne up next at the O2, followed by M83 at Somerset House, Blur/Specials/New Order in Hyde Park, V Fest (shit lineup, free tickets), Bestival and Radiohead at the MEN in October. I think I just came.

Anyone going to the No Direction Home Festival in June ?

It's being run by the organisers of the End of The Road Festival , so if anyone has been to this would appreciate any opinions .

Seeing Roger Waters play The Wall tonight at Wrigley Field in Chicago.

Will post some pics tomorrow when I get home.  Saw the show two years ago at in indoor arena and it was incredible, should be even better outdoors.

Managed to catch Amon Tobin ISAM at the Sydney Opera House the other week. Can honestly say there has never been anything louder played in the main concert hall. Great seats 8 rows back. The bass was so loud it made my eye involuntary twitch. An amazing experience that Youtube does absolutely no justice in capturing.

Just about that time of year again and seeing as I'm always looking for new and innovative booze-smuggling ideas

Anyone got any tip/tricks for smuggling alcohol into the arena areas of festivals? My best are a couple of cans 'gooched' in the crotch of my jeans, calypso drink packets re-filled with whiskey and a hip-flask down the wellies. Looking for more ideas to save me paying £4 or whatever for a can of warm Carlsberg!!

Smuggle it in in your stomach by drinking it all 2 minutes before you get to the entry gates. Job done.

Go to a decent festival. They don't have the 'arena areas' separate.

Glastonbury, Green Man for example.

Box of wine, pull out the foil bag and stick it in the belly pocket of a hoodie. Tie that round your waist and walk normal as it hits the back of your knees.

No matter what you do walk up with a can in your hand and as you get there make a little show of downing it and putting it in the bin then walking through, usually prevents any questions

I'm going secret garden party in july. Anyone been? Any tips? Heard it's more about the 'weirdness' and such like, which suits me to be honest, than the music.

been once.it was awesome mate.youll have a belting time. Its like the best of glastonbury (or the bits i think are best anyways) just hanging around strange areas/tents/odd bands.bongos, solo guitarists etc, really nice festival.

Take the bag out of a box of wine and shove it down the arse of your trousers. You'll need to take a bit out so it isn't too full but it you get it right your belt should hold it up and a remotely loose top will cover it. Box of wine and you're sorted.

Been to Leeds and V fest twice each and for both i've either just stuffed them down my jeans (Humor jeans are the best for this if you've got a pair before of the low crotch and the pockets at the back can fit a can in each easily) Or hidden them up my sleeves. Although from other stories i've heard it seems i've got lucky when it comes to sneaking booze through!

I had a load of booze in my gym bag when we first got to Leeds last year and it got searched, the bloke who looked clearly saw the booze but chose to ignore it!! Instead he took all my deodorant  ???

Just got tickets for Sigur Ros at The Eden Project in June.

Living down in the arse end of the country (Cornwall) we get very little choice of live music and usually have to travel a long way to see anything decent.

The Eden Sessions have around 4 half decent gigs every summer, over the years I've seen Pulp, Primal Scream, PJ Harvey, Basement Jaxx, Goldfrapp, Amy Winehouse, The Raconteurs and last year, The Flaming Lips.

It's a brilliant setting to see a band, and Sigur Ros should be just perfect.
