Three of our cards (Van Dijk, Gakpo and Gomez?) were for lightly catching someone around the neck. Yellow cards. If this was a foul in Coote's book, as it appears, Nunez should have had a penalty.

Earlier in the game he pulled it back for a Brighton free-kick after they made 3 passes during an advantage.. so surely he should have brought it back for a freekick to us after Diaz was offside too.

That was the worst overall refereeing performance I've seen for a while. The only major one was a potential penalty on Nunez but for the sheer number of bizarre calls, its right up there.

It's just a shitshow. We topped the fair play league under Jurgen for 4 seasons running I believe. Maybe with extra years on top. Now we regularly get 5 booked per game, plus the pathetic reds.

Theres nearly always an early one to put us under more undue pressure. If I played for this team I would have to say something and get sent off. I dont know how our lads keep their cool.

Someone on Reddit ran the numbers of fouls for vs fouls against this season for teams in the top 5. We're a massive outlier and it's not even close.

Liverpool: 298 fouls for, 360 against= -62
Arsenal: 296 for, 267 against= +29
City: 293 for, 231 against= +62
Villa: 379 for, 327 against= +52
Spurs: 398 for, 320 against= +78

I watch MotD and see all these different referees and wonder who they are.  I read stories about referees like Rebecca Welch, Sam Allison and Sunny Singh Gill.  I hear on the radio that they expect the number of different referees to take charge of Premier League games this season to reach 30.

Then I see the same rogues gallery of names lined up for our games.  Maybe you have to prove yourself capable of not being influenced by LFC fans before you're allowed to referee an LFC game

We also saw one of their players rolling around looking for a free kick then jumping up and running back when he didn't get  one. I know it was Easter Sunday, so it's not unheared of for there to be a resurrection, but isn't simulation a booking offence now?

Would just like to hear audio of them going through the offside process. It’s just so open to manipulation. Everyone probably thinks the decisions go against them, and I’m sure tiger teams have had right ones ruled out as well but at no point yesterday did I think he might give it.

I said this at the time of the Diaz Spurs goal but when it’s as tight as that I don’t get why the Lino puts his flag up. It’ll get checked anyway. It gets given offside and the commentators say “great decision” but when it’s as close as that there has to be guesswork going on.

to be fair it was a corner but have to wonder if that was Tierney giving him advice with is not how the game should be reffed.

to be honest the most bizarre thing was the corner we had and he was worried about balls behind the goal for some weird reason.
