Jones was good. Brewster lively but trying bit too hard at times but good to get a goal.

Van Den Berg looks very poor.

Two in ten minutes now after making the tactical switch.

Serious questions need to be asked internally after this match, I understand that it's youth level, but it's frankly unacceptable.

Think you need to lie down and relax!

As for your other earlier post, did you never watch us under Roy?!?!

I absolutely concur, believe me  ;D

I had the unfortunate 'gift' of experiencing my formative Liverpool following years, at least full time, under the wenerable Hodgson himself, I do believe most of the memories to be firmly suppressed however, so my recollection could be hazy in this case.

Apologies for the excessive tone, unfortunately when you find yourself listening to nails being scraped along a chalkboard for 75 minutes, you can tend to become a little testy.

It's youth football - they're supposed to try out new formations and systems. It's how you teach players the game. The result is secondary.

That's kind of what I wanted to say... if they stuck with that formation, there was probably a point.

At this level, I'm not 100% sure how you can tell whether the issue is the formation itself or the application of the formation by inexperienced players, but I'm sure someone on the bench does!

I think Neco is going under the radar a bit with Hoever playing right back (mostly).  That’s the third goal (all important ones) for him in less a than 3 weeks.  Brilliant for a full back.

Sounds like Adam Lewis will be our for a while. Probably unlikely he’d have seen first team action even in the League Cup but not good for him or the U23s.

No one commenting on the exciting mini mini derby live on LFC Tv?  Great game.  I’d say Everton have played better, and are the taller and stronger team, but currently we’re up 2-1 with late first half goals by Fidel and Layton.

No 3-1 now with an own goal.  Yeah.   😀

U18s are top scorers across both divisions, averaging nearly 4 a game. Seriously impressive after losing Glatzel and Duncan from this age group.

U23s winning 3-1. Hill with his first for them and dixon-bonner with 2. Elliot is popping up everywhere in attack. Gelhardt for.wigan looks really good. Surprised he's not involved with wigans first team every week.

There has been a fair amount of hype over Gelhardt on sites that follow England youth talent.  Never seen him myself until today and I’m amazed he’s still so young- an Eng u17 player and yet clearly running he Wigan team.  He looks like Wayne Rooney as a teenager, stocky, strong and very efficient in attack.  Two goals and really Wigan’s only threat.  Our commentator was suggesting he played in Wigan’s firsts on Saturday, which makes it amazing he lasted the 90 mins today.  A dynamo.

The Guardian has picked out Leyton Stewart as their one to watch in their Next Generation 2019 list.

Previous years they went with Adam Phillips, Trent, Woodburn, Curtis Jones and Niall Brookwell.

Hes playing for the u18s as a second year. Was injured/missing for a for quite a bit last season.  Started the last few games for gerrard the season before that as an u16 which is probably what got him on the list

In the U18s, I think. Didn't recognise the name, but a quick Google shows a few pieces on him. Some of the good people who watch everything here might be able to help?
