Would have preferred Danns up top with Elliot in midfield and Mac sitting deeper. Really not sure Gomez at 6 worked well at all and he looked out of position when they counter attacked.

Agree but hopefully, the secondhand against Southampton and a few training sessions will help with that. Like you, would have preferred Elliott in midfield and Danns up front though.

Crazy what injuries have done to us but this is how it is. Will be a little unusual for the players starting like this but its good enough for a win, nothing less.

I don’t doubt Joe’s attributes and attitude but it’s a big ask to play a totally new role in a PL game. Would rather have McConnell there but can only assume he”s gassed after Weds.

At least we have great options off the bench so let’s hope we’re ahead or at least level when changes are made. Eventually we’ll get stung falling behind and can’t afford for it to happen today.

Up the Reds. Have faith. And if we start slowly, have more faith. Some great options on the bench if we need one of our early season style turnarounds.

They’re shite from set pieces - goal machine Virg to score again.

He missed from a yard out at these last season. Perfect time to make up for it.

It’s brave as he struggled first half against Saints.

Gibbs-White will be in between the lines so can’t afford to lose his position.

He’s exceptional but he’s not really a 6.

I agree it's not his natural position but his adaptability will hopefully cover it. He seems to be a player that learns quicker than most.

Gomez as the six.

It’s certainly brave.

Hopefully he doesn’t actually start in that position. Why can’t he play right midfield with Mac Callister as the six.

Gomez was poor in the central position against Southampton

I'm amazed Harvey and Cody are able to go and would be thrilled if they can give an intense 60 minutes.  Oh to be young again....

I'd prefer seeing Bradley up top, Harvey in MF, Joe at RB, but that's not exactly how JK did it against Soton.

I'd also prefer NOT seeing big Divock in the starting XI for Forest.

Going to be a struggle I feel, but I'd back us for three points.

He wasn't poor in the second half at all.

would be phenominal

loved the view of the bench the other day where near the end of his game gakpo suddenly shook off the tiredness and turned into a beast and knocked challengers away for him, only to narrowly miss the chance he created for himself. could see they all appreciated how hard he's worked (usually selflessly), and hoped he'd get his just reward

If Gomez does indeed start at 6, I imagine Macca would be effectively playing a double pivot with him, and would be the primary organiser in midfield coordinating between Gomez and Clark. Elliot and Diaz drop back plenty too, so that would help as well.

Has anyone confirmed that Joe will play as a 6, or is it assumed? Looking at that line up I thought it would be Gomez at RB, Mac as the 6 and Bradley as the right midfield position overlapping and supporting Elliot?

Been reported that the two FBs (Bradley and Robbo) are together in warm up and Gomez in shooting practice with others.

Very surprised by the line-up I must say.

The club must really rate Clark, I'd been expecting Endo to be playing.

I don't think Gomez will be playing in midfield if Mac Aliister is in the team,
more likely to be right-back and Bradley further forward.

Endo was complaining about both hamstrings a few days ago so I am assuming they are easing him back in. Clark played really well last game, so I can understand them going with him.

I think Endo would be starting if he was fully fit or we weren’t worried about the games ahead. There’s a few players being nursed back and I guess they think Clarke can handle it. Good luck to him.
