In work for this unfortunately. Hoping when I get to look at my phone, we will be 3-0 up and Caicedo is crying at his reflection in the back of Szoboszlai's beautiful, lacquered bouffant as he drives forward to score a worldie.

Careful, worse Chelsea sides have blown up past title challenges.

In terms of points collected in the last 5 games, Chelsea are 2nd to only Man City.

Expecting a difficult game, I believe our last win in the league against them was at the Bridge in 20/21. That aside, excited for every game now, hope we find a way to win one way or another

They have beaten Fulham, Palace, and Sheffield United at home and hung on for an away win at Luton. They'd have to be extra levels of shite not to pick up a fair amount of points from these fixtures (though Luton can be a pain in the arse away as we found out.).

That Luton game is their only away win in their last 6 matches, with losses to Saudi, United, Everton, Wolves, and Boro. I guess their squad of Mercs don't travel too well. If we turn up the heat tonight, they'll melt.

Massive couple of games coming up. Abu really only 2 points behind us and their next 4-5 games are 'buys' as far as i remember. Arsenal hanging in there and they will probably be thinking if they lose or possibly even draw with us , they face an uphill battle to overtake both us and abu. They will be throwing everything at us and i just hope we are ready for them from kickoff this time.
Long way to go obviously but lets hopefully get chelsea out of the way first which is never easy
You would expect the cheats to win their next few comfortably. However, if we could win tonight AND emerge victorious from what's sure to be a tough game on Sunday, their game away to Brentford with Toney back on Monday night might seem less of a gimme. We have to do our stuff in those two games though.

Thanks for the OP Raid

Our record against “top 6” sides hasn’t been as good as it should this season. Hopefully we can start putting that right tonight. Although I know Chelsea aren’t literally top 6 right now.

They’ve shown signs of improvement, but are still inconsistent, so it’s difficult to predict what we’ll face, but their away record definitely gives cause for optimism.

Arsenal away Sunday makes 3 points here vital, but if we come out fast and play anywhere close to our best we should win.

A red hot atmosphere will no doubt help and with Tierney acting as 12th man for them that should be a given.

We have every right to be confident, but there are plenty of home games this season that have shown us we continue to have vulnerabilities - recency bias ensures most fans forget this and only remember Bournemouth 4-0 thrashing.

We give everyone chances and frequently the 1st goal.  They only need the first goal and a little bit of luck and they could be hanging on for a draw.

Think they’ve had a run of winnable games haven’t they? But yeah, they’re definitely looking a bit better now than they were in the Autumn. They could be dangerous but I’m hoping we will overpower them. Not winning would put a lot of pressure on the Arsenal game and would be good for the belief to batter a ‘big’ team.

If your predicitions were accurate we'd get relegated every season on about 11 points!

We Have Played Chelsea Twice On This Day In The Past , Both ending in draws

1931 – We drew 2-2 at Chelsea, with Gordon Gunson and Gordon Hodgson scoring. Future reds wartime guest George Mills bagged the first of his four goals against us, with Jackie Crawford also on target for the Blues.

2017 – Centre-half Dejan Lovren reached a century of reds games as we were held to a 1-1 draw at Anfield by Chelsea, with Simon Mignolet saving a Diego Costa penalty. David Luiz gave the visitors the lead with an opportunistic free-kick, with Gini Wijnaldum heading in after the break.

This is such a tricky run for us. Games agains the traditional top 6 including our 2nd hardest away game of the season, without Salah and City have some very winnable games. If we can come out of it with 6 points it’d be absolutely massive.

Huge game tonight. Forget Sunday. Arsenal putting the pressure on last night, City could rack up a cricket score tonight. Win here, any win, is massive. Anfield will be rocking. Few players back for us and a few bang in form. Let's get the job done then 16 more to go. Come on lads

I don't think this will be as easy as some think it'll be. When's the last time we beat these very convincingly? They could be bottom of the table and relegated and they'll still give us a game. They always do.

I think it'll be a hard-fought 1-0 or 2-1 win for us.

on the flip side after these 2 huge aways our run in is decent. City at home, Man U and Ev away you'd hope / assume we'd manage professionally. And Villa away may be too late to make a difference.

For once I have an exact team in my head for this despite us having more options than for a few weeks. TAA I would put straight back in but I would stick with Gomez at LB since Robbo will be very rusty having been out for longer. Going forward there is an argument Gomez would be a better option at LB considering what we are doing with TAA but thats a discussion for another day.

                   Alisson

TAA     Konate        VVD    Gomez

    Szoboslai  MacAllister  Jones

      Jota        Nunez        Diaz

Really hope this MF is available as I think its our best setup. Front 3 are listed like that but to be honest they could play in any position.

Echoing what many have already said but I too hate playing this bunch.  Always raise their game and play up to their salaries and payroll.

Being at Anfield is huge though.  2-1 for the Reds.

Despite where they are in the PL, this will be tricky, they will hit some proper form sometime soon...

Paul 'Effing' Tierney, Cole Porter Palmer (the 2nd most Manc looking Manc ever, just behind Foden) Raheem Sterling  :wanker not to mention 7 consecutive draws (in 90 mins)...

Just win please....

You would think this should be fairly easy. They are on 31 points and have looked terrible at times. But you know they will all be up for it. So now it is more like playing one of the top 4. If we take our chances we will will win. I’m hoping they can’t compete with us like Newcastle home game. 4-2 Liverpool.

Nice OP! Those Meireles and Johnson goals were brilliant moments. It felt like we had years of failures at Stamford Bridge and then we couldn't stop beating them.

It's a huge game tonight isn't it? Win and it's another marker laid down, drop points and we'll get a lot of talk about Klopp leaving being a distraction etc. Big chance to nip that straight in the bud and show everyone we mean business. Performances have been great since the United game, keep those levels and we'll win. I reckon 2 nil Liverpool.

I'm also thinking that this could be a serious mis-match. Thiago five years ago might have stood a very good chance. But Darwin is precisely the sort of player he wouldn't fancy facing today.

jeez, more OTT score predictions.

we all HOPE it will be a blowout.  given the fact that there's been barely a single goal scored in these games over the pat 5 years .... why do you say that?

It's because of a City in Australia
I'll take a scrappy 1-0 all day long
