Really enjoyed that. We played some good football and everyone contributed. Another solid game from Tsimikas which is important. Kelleher played well and that should help boost his confidence.

I’m going to pick Quansah as MOTM. He just did everything so well and never looked rushed. He’s quietly improving and could be one of our stars of the future.

great news that, we can rest everyone ahead of the United game, whilst they have to go full strength as they get battered by Bayern

And we are guaranteed to avoid 2 extra games in Feb!

Walk in the park, could've scored ten.

Topped the group, important that now we can send the reserves to Belgium for the last group match and ease the fixture congestion.

Agreed. Hopefully we've learned from that CL dead rubber a few years ago where we lost Jota for several months.

Won the group easy game and lots of run outs for people. Almost the perfect end to the game.

Well done boys!

City and Arsenal winning their CL group with a game to spare made it important for us to do the same.

Good thing is though we've been able to heavily rotate in all 6 group games as well which has given players needed rest (particularly Dom and Mac with midfield numbers low). It puts Europe to bed for a while. Hopefully an inviting draw as seeds and the competition opens up.

Only thing I'd be critically harsh of is we conceded lots of chances, but then we could have scored 7 or 8 tonight on the flip side. As much as I'd rather be in the Champions League, it's good for us to be able to bed in a few squad and younger players in these games. Quansah just seems to be growing with every performance.

Qualified for the last 16 as well. Suspect we'll still put out a similar team mind you, can't see us playing a team full of kids. Great result either way!

Jota was a back up at the time though tbf. You still have to put XI players on the pitch, but hopefully it's all fringe and young players.

Nice to see Gapko get a couple, I love how hard he hits the ball when shooting.

Gravenberch is pretty raw still. Coughs up possession a little easily, flits in and out of games quite a bit, doesn't do much defensively. Massive potential but we'll need to be patient I suspect.

What with Endo and Mo off at the internationals in January and the crazy schedule give s us a chance to regroup
you realize what an insane schedule successful teams have in England when they point out tonight LASK have 2 more games and then don't play again until Feb (compared to the 15 or so games we have).

Considering our fixtures, I don't expect any of the starters to play in Belgium:

14.12. Union Saint-Gilloise (a) Europa League
17.12. Man Utd (h)
20.12. West Ham (h) League Cup
23.12. Arsenal (h)

There will be players in and around the first team who will need minutes. Either in terms of fitness or form. There has to be a balance between overplaying individuals and underplaying them.

as long as we have a fully fit squad we don't have to put all the kids out (assuming Jota and Ali get back to full fitness for United) we could then pick:

Kelleher
Gomez
Matip
Quansah
Chambers

Jones
Elliott
Endo

Doak
Gakpo
Jota

Not sure how long they are out for, if longer them we probably play a young keeper, maybe push Jones to the left forward and play one of the kids up top, maybe Gordon on the left?
However if something serious happens to them I will eat my own cock.

4-0. A job well done. We scored early and controlled the game with ease. The right players scored, a clean sheet for Kelleher and game time for a few young players. Couldn't have asked for more. Perfect game for us.
