Started so well then it all started to fall apart a bit. We'll be happier to see half time at this moment than Chelsea.

It's basically the same Liverpool we've seen all through pre-season - very dangerous going forward, soft as fuck at the back.

Outclassed them for most of that and should have been 3 up but the crap defending we now do so well crept it and we got punished. Hopefully our better attacking talent tells in the end as both teams look dodgy at the back. Darwin to get the winner.

That VAR decision stunk, not a chance was Mo that far off, maybe the tiniest of margins, no problem but that was bullshit. Nice to see they can get away with head butts and karate kicks too.

Absolute car crash at the back, they are getting the better at both flanks.

Great going forward except for Jota who seems like a headless chicken and really other than headbutting Enzo hasn't done a thing.

Really need a regroup at halftime.

Frustrating to control the game for so long then Virgil goes to sleep and it’s 1-1. The sheer panic we ended up in after that made me glad for half time.

About what we expected dangerous going forward and leaky at the back. We faded badly the last 10-15 minutes once Salah’s goal was ruled out.

We may need a new LB after this season.

Definitely need another player in midfield. Gakpo is too advanced/attacking a player to play in midfield.

MacAllister is boss though. And so are Konate and Mo.

Gakpo in midfield is a massive no for me. Sure he's great carrying the ball but he offers zero protection, there's so much space there and it's killing us.

Overall it's not too bad, it's as we expected based on pre-season. Lots of fun going forward but no defenders in midfield. Jota has had a stinker, I'd be tempted to take him off for Jones and move Gakpo up.

Gapko is not a midfielder. DS was barely asked to do any defensive work at his previous club. It’s just kamikaze stuff to play the 2 of them alongside MacAllister as a sole 6, who isn’t a sole 6, at all.

Salah is a bit good.

A half of two halves there, started well then lost our way

Felt like we started turning the ball over and not winning tackles, Gakpo and Jota in particular. Also butchered some half decent opportunities by making poor final passes

We can go on to win this

Scoreline just about fair, but another 10 minutes of that Chelsea pressure probably would have resulted in us going behind. Hopefully we sort ourselves out and get back to how we were for the first 25 minutes of the game.

We don't have a midfield destroyer so I don't know why Gakpo is playing as an 8 instead of Jones. We're getting carved open down his side time after time.

Jota hasn't really been in the game either, swap him for Jones and I think we're more solid.

I’d get Jones on for Jota, even before his knock. We need to start keeping ball more.

Looked very tidy in possession and way more energy. Whole shape needs to be more compact though and we can’t do that with profile of players we have.
