Loving Everton's business this summer. Here's an early call - they finish above Liverpool this season.

They poached their manager during a season in which they started really well. Plus they weren’t happy with their approach for Cucurella were they?

And stole half their back room staff? Chelsea are scum, they deserve this.

Whack the bid in and tell Brighton we'll pay them an extra 5 million if we beat Chelsea on Sunday just for a laugh. And 10 if Caicedo moons up at Bohely in the directors box

Why bid if Chelsea are the favourites?

Why kick a single football if City are the favourites.

Indy has completely lost the plot.
He’s claiming Caicedo is talking to Klopp tonight via a teams call and that Mac Allister could be joining the call too. Lol

We definitely wouldn’t bid a club record for someone who didn’t want to come, plus then clubs will know we have the money there.

Brighton would rather sell to us, so assuming we cough up the dough it comes down to whether we can charm the player away from Chelsea. Our main selling point is Klopp and there's Mac Allister who he played with as well.

At least it's not the days of getting Steven Gerrard to text them and then complain that they just wanted to move to London anyway. If he's adamant he's joining Chelsea then that's where he'll go but surely we wouldn't be bidding anyway if that was the case (if we're actually serious). You'd hope it's gone quiet with Lavia because we've been working on this instead and it's not just game playing.

If a bid is made for a player. Are any, or both clubs obliged to announce it?

He prefers a serious club. Do you know d number of months Chelsea have been on this? Literally using the entire summer to window-shop Caicedo. I didn't see seriousness in Chelsea heirarchy to close the deal on time.

So, may turn out to be a good lesson on closing deals on time.

That last line is so RAWK the past few days...  ;D

Chelsea are still the favorites because they have agreed personal terms with Caicedo and his agent. If we also agree the personal terms with him and his agent (it seems that is what is going on at the moment), we will make our bid ...

Odd thing about this is, Chelsea have been ruthless since Boehly came in, throwing money around and 9 times out of 10 getting who they want. It’s been out there that they’ve wanted caciedo for weeks now but still not signed, why?

A few thoughts:

- Yes to the poster above who said we wouldn’t bid without some encouragement from the player
- But, regardless of what Brighton want, it’s down to the player (so long as Chelsea match the bid / terms)
- But, are they actually moving on from him because of the terms : value?
- What does that say about their commitment to seeing a deal through (and to Lavia if we are actually going to do our MF overhaul all in one window)?

Not to be that guy, but even if we get Caicedo we would still need a second midfielder IMO. Lavia would be even more ideal in that scenario, as we wouldn't be pinning all our hopes on him and he's a different enough type to Caicedo that they could play together.

Maybe Andre will be the second midfielder regardless. What I'd say is that we're in a slight self inflicted pickle if it's Caicedo + Andre, because we'd be at capacity on the non homegrown side which means a CB (unless homegrown) is probably contingent on a departure. Would also mean poor Ben Doak couldn't play in the Europa League, but guess that's not a big concern?

How is this going to get Southampton to lower the price? If anything, won't it tell S'hampton we've got £100m in the transfer fund?

Maybe. Or it might send a message that we have plenty of money but we will only pay what we think is a fair price and no more

Maybe we have been talking to Caicedo on the sly ?

If we genuinely are trying to negotiate a fee with Brighton then we must have been speaking to him and he must have given us some indication that he'd consider a move. I'm still of the view that this is all Brighton and us working together to smoke out Chelsea to up their most recent offer sooner rather than later.

Why be difficult when it’s a blank cheque which would help Brighton bring in 3 replacements? The window ticks on and Brighton have less time to get in who they want. Would have been better to accept the Chelsea bid and got round to spending.
94 Corner to us. Last kick. Ali in the box and he’s scored
