Really nice set of films Lman. Watched A Ghost Story last night. Been meaning to for a long time but somewhat never got to it. Weird, as it's right up my alley, and what a lovely and moving film it is. It starts glacial slow (I think there was a shot of Rooney Mara eating a cake that lasted at least 5 minutes), and I can see why it wouldn't be for everyone, but I didn't mind the slow burn, and it really pays off later on.

yeah they're alright. they're probably a bit mainstream compared to others picks but i'm not a man of high culture, i gravitate towards the obvious films to watch when i'm gonna watch one. Yeah i like ghost story. i like that it could easily be called a house story. we get to see the history of the house and the spot it's on. That shits deep too! i like a slow burner once in a blue moon, a quiet movie. was gonna plump for another one in that category with robert redford in all is lost which i enjoyed

Glad I'm not the only one whose seen it. Deserves to be talked about more than it probably is/was. The Amazon association won't have helped.

Some other films I was considering in that category - I, Tonya, Captain Fantastic, The Imitation Game, 127 Hours, Birdman, Creed. I was most gutted I blocked myself on Call Me by Your Name though, which Timothy Chalamet was also in. Beautiful film that.

Inside Out and the Lego Movie were ones I wanted after Up, which turned out to be ineligible.

I wanted Megamind, but inadvertently blocked that one via Jonah Hill in Wolf of Wall Street.

Yeah Captain Fantastic was a good little movie. I was thinking about Birdman too.

Others I had were Sorry to Bother You, 3 Billboards, Midsommar, Looper, The Hunt, Shutter Island, 10 Cloverfield Lane, The Babadook, Blackklansman, Prey, See How they Run, Frozen and Okja, Us and Maleficent 2.
