Supported Liverpool all my life I am 29 so really started taking it all in with Houllier my first memories of Liverpool and my first visit to Anfield was when he was managing us Absolute gutted with this news this morning

Incredibly sad news.

We dont win in Istanbul without the legacy he left Benitez.

Changed how we trained, how we were coached, took us into the era of sports science and athletes rather than pissed up players having a laugh

His legacy in France and in Liverpool is beyond reproach.

Took us on our first step to becoming great again

I hadn't heard of anything recent, but I remember him having health issues when he was at Aston Villa and of course, when Thompson was in charge here for a bit. Seems like he's had to fight his share of things.

I've just read he had heart surgery a couple of days ago apparently.
