I looked through the PL teams this morning, just picking out players that annoyed me.

Struggled to choose between the top two but last year tipped it.

Reminds me of going to an industry awards event there about 10/11 years ago. We were staying in a hotel near the ground and I went for a pint while my colleague was getting ready. Turns out the pub I went to had a plaque behind the bar proclaiming it to be the official pub of the Man Utd Supporters club.

Anyway, needs must I’ve got a pint and headed to a General Knowledge quiz game as I’m on my own.  Had a few rounds of it and got on the leaderboard in the top 3 positions (which says a lot for the clientele there as I’m no fucking Einstein!). Bearing in mind where I was I ensured that my username on the leaderboard was appropriate for the hallowed venue: LFCJames

I think there was enough in that game to alert PL referees to what Ronaldo is all about, especially when United are seeking a winner or equaliser, he, like Vardy, is a very clever player. But a cheat.

It's not a question of whether they're alert, it's a question of whether they're arsed.

I think it might have been the 2-1 win at Anfield under Rafa, but I remember Ronaldo going down like he'd been shot, and the referee just laughed it off. No booking, even though he clearly knew it was a dive.

They knew what he was like, even back in the day. We like to hope the game has moved on in those dozen or so years, but we all know it really hasn't.
