Honestly, you're starting to come across like the shitty media now - finding anything to nitpick at them.

They are required to travel as 'senior' royals, or often do so to find privacy during their private life, and when they do they offset the emissions to minimise the impact. It doesn't make them hypocrites, and doesn't mean they aren't environmentally conscious. I'm environmentally conscious but I drive a car, use plenty of electric, and travel abroad relatively often - I just try to have a positive impact elsewhere.

As I said earlier, it’s not a cottage in the sense most of us think of one - small, rustic with thatched roof - it’s a very large house, say about 5 or 6 average houses stuck together.

Yeah, to be fair you could usually build a decent mansion from scratch for that kind of money. Worst part is after spending so much of our money on the ‘cottage’ they are now pissing off to America so it can sit empty half the time.

I’d say it was a reasonably sized farm house rather than a cottage (what ever it’s called).

A fair bit bigger than the other crown residences near by (for crown estate employees), but by no means a mansion.

I’m basing it purely on the photos on Google, looks like a row of 5 or 6 terraced houses converted in to one large house.

Possibly so but it’s true. There was a local Grade II listed building near where I grew up that needed a new roof and it cost over £1m just for that (it got a last minute lottery grant before they were going to have to let it go to ruin).

It's crazy..shame on the royals for allowing the place to get in such a state!
£2.4m is an insane amount of money to spend on a property that size even if it is listed..if it was a complete ruin I'd still be questioning it.

To be fair, you I presume do not preach to others about being environmentally conscious.

Ultimately though I find them annoying because they are royals. I dont mind or care about celebs telling us what to do, most of them have worked for their status. So has Markle I guess, but Harry, not at all.

We should be glad that there is less of them and hopefully Charles’ plan to downsize that whole thing goes ahead. Then maybe one day that institution can be fucked off and ended permanently, with the state seizing their assets.
