Could you imagine Edward's reaction when he found out Minamino's release clause was a mere 7.25m? And that only he knew about it? His smile would have been bigger than a kid finding out Santa was real when he brought home his dad from the cigarette run all those many years ago.

It just makes Edward's job piss easy. He could have spent weeks deliberating between comparable attacking mids and who to spend 50-60 possibly 70 million on. But a 7.25m price for Minamino is such a no brainer, he just probably just needed an hour talking with his agent at most.

As i said earlier, I've imagined this kid playing for us after his display at Anfield.  I felt the same way about Kante, Mane, Koulibaly and VVD before they were hyped as fuck so hopefully he ends up being as impactful playing for us.  At only 24, I can see him following the same incremental improvement path followed by our other signings like Salah, Mane, Robertson, Fabinho.  Not necessarily household names when they signed for us, but now considered top players in the world.  His work rate and desire to improve, combined with Klopp's guiding hand, will be a sight to behold as it's one of the reasons I love this current team so much.

While I rate the current media darling Haland, I feel his playing style/ceiling is more akin to Djeko and Klopp has never shown an interest in those types of forwards.  Someone is going to spend a shit load on that kid and while I think he'll do very well I wouldn't be surprised if Takumi ends up surpassing him in overall impact when all is said and done.

Would probably give a lot of credit to Salzburg's last manager, Marco Rose, who's led Monchengladbach to the top of the league.

Then Coutinho was the same, he seemed like that good cousin you could always tell him to pick up that toy that fell down because it's so far for me to reach, to walk all the way to the shop for you to go and buy bread and milk when your mother asked you to do it, and then all of a sudden he is depressed and wants to go to Barcelona, and then depressed with his millions in Barca and everyone is sad for him because now he is homeless in Bayern Munich. Maybe Yusuf Islam, Bruce Springsteen or Tracy Chapman will write a song for him because we all know how sad it is and what a good boy character he is.

Fortunately, this is a key trait in the players we look for and it seems that Salzberg also consider that aspect before signing a player.   Essentially, he has been vetted twice, by us and them, so we've done the most we can to try and prevent adding a dressing room cancer to the team.
