What you mean they might not return this season?

No, I mean they may need a couple of games as well.

He always looks a bit slow when coming back but he'll speed up, be back to his dominant best, but frustratingly just at that time of the year when we need everyone up to speed.

Here's hoping his ascendency parallels with improved performance and wins.

He needs more match time, he will be very useful over the next few weeks

Why does he linger on the ball all the time?

I've thought he'd gotten this out of his game, earlier in the season he was much much improved.
Hopefully he gets back to his form soon.

But again, is it him lingering, or is other players not demanding the ball from him?
It's a bit of both I think, our intensity dropped in the second half on Sunday.

Played some incisive passes in the first half that started very good counter attack. It will go unnoticed because we're shite at counters anyway.

Also played Darwin through for the 1v1 which he made a meal of so that will be forgotten as well.

Nobody was showing today. Jones is just more likely to get caught as he dithers more than most. Other players would just go back.

Thought he was rusty again. He'll come good, just annoying that there aren't many relaxed games to sharpen from here on out.

Yeah I don't think his first half performance was as bad as people are saying. I think he lost the ball in dangerous position one? Which gives people the impression. He was actually better than Szobo in the second half (low bar I know).

Seemed he was doing a totally different pressing game to everyone else. He’d go and press their keeper and everyone else was strolling around.

Agreed he was poor on the ball but I’d expect that, you’re a yard slow after injury and he needs that for his close control, he’s usually an extremely safe pair of hands with the ball.

Wrong game for him this, at best he would've drawn fouls but not worth the injury risk.

He looked so sharp against Sheffield United but been sloppy in last two.

It’s a real shame as he’s class.

When planning the game and minutes needed for players it was the coaching staff that need a rethink because Jones is a better fit for Palace from the start rather than a physical game against a tough opponent. I'd argue playing any fragile player coming back from injury against a man for man set up is a risk.

Looked a bit rusty.

No idea how he lasted 80+ minutes honestly. He looked really rusty in the first half and I thought he would be taken off at half-time for Elliott but somehow he lasted until his embarrassing miss.

I think he’s great but he’s one of those players that seems to take a while to get back into form after injury - not ideal for a run-in, but to be honest some of our starting line up selections past few weeks have been odd.

Clearly rusty today.

I think he's far from great, him and few others are the reason we are also ran's and not future champions .
Too many injuries have scuppered our chance of the title but we have done well to even be in this position. Arsenal and City are ahead of us regards player quality but the new manager will look at these players with new eyes.
Nunez will never be a goal scorer but brings other qualities and when you don't have a goal scorer in the team we become toothless. You wouldn't think the league was at stake today and hopefully the new manager will stop these early goals going against us because it's been going on for far too long.

That miss was so bad. Back from injury and taking a while to get up to speed.

Wasn’t really in the game today. Shocked Elliot isn’t ahead of him in midfield.

Wish he'd run at defenders more you know. Showed a burst of pace a couple of times today that I didn't know he had when he ran past the Palace RB and put a couple of balls in with his left foot.

I don't know whether it's tactical or whether it's just his instinct, but he's often too safe when I think he could do some very positive things if he took a couple more risks.

Poor today, but better than those other scousers Endo and Macallister, who presumably are also only being picked for the same reason.

Yeah, don't think he's sleeping well after that. Shocking miss, and must hurt a little bit more since he's a local lad.

He’s paid enough money to get over it and at an elite level he needs to bury that or have the brains to square it. He reverted to how he was pre last ten games last season today. Hopefully he can shake it off.
