Jericho is so good on commentary, funny, knowledgeable and puts everyone over.  Should definitely move into it when he hangs up his boots.

It’s all a bit crap really isn’t it? I can’t even be arsed reading spoilers on wrestling anymore. I get the occasional video flash up on YouTube and it looks pretty awful. Pushing Lashley again, Jeff Hardy feuding with Sheamus about him being an alcoholic,

I saw a video of the revival against some other team in AEW, only five minutes but it looked dreadful. Timing was way off and both teams looked absolutely gassed, and the comments were full of people saying how amazing it was ;D Jericho on commentary is a good thing though.
Absolutely agreed with this for me it's a dead product and has been for some time, imagine in the 90s if we had a Pandemic and wrestling was the only thing on even without the crowd Raw and Nitro would be getting 10+ million viewers every week. The reason wrestling ratings are in the toilet isn't because of the crowd not being there it's because nobody can be bothered with it anymore. Fuck it give me WCW in 2000 over anything AEW or WWE produce at the moment WCW in 2000 may of been shit but at least it was entertaining to take the piss out of  ;D

Just one of those things. Like Eastenders.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

EastEnders is a great compassion, it's one of those things when you tell someone that you watch it they will say to you that you still watch that in a surprising manner just like with EastEnders  ;D

I think it should just be cancelled at this point as it's definitely run its course and outlasted it's welcome just like EastEnders.

Wrestling has had its day. And that's fine, the world is a different place. I haven't minded watching some of the AEW shows the past few weeks but I will keep my judgments for when the fans are back. No interest in modern day WWE, the lack of crowd kills it for me.

I've been listening through loads of grilling JR podcasts. I think wrestling between 96 and 2001 is as watchable as any classic tv box sets and I think that's how it should be viewed and remembered. Genuinely think it could be my specialist mastermind subject.

Same. Storytelling wise it's near-untouchable and while there were less "good" matches before, they all meant so much and had a purpose.

I stopped watching wrestling in 1994 and when I started watching it again in 99. I couldn't believe how much better it was. 99 & 2000 were great years and I think it's been on a steady decline since. The invasion angle stunk the place out, Austin turning heel and no competition hasn't helped. The clips I've seen behind close doors is truly awful

New Japan's first show since February is live right now. They are doing empty arena shows for a month but come July they can operate in venues with 25% capacity... so obviously they are booking the biggest ones possible because 4000 fans in a 16k dome get you more money than 500 in a 2000 building like Korakuen Hall.

In yet more good news for AEW's womens division, Kris Statlander tore her ACL landing on Kip on Dynamite last week and is obviously out for a while. With a large portion of their roster based abroad it seems like Shida, Nyla Rose, Penelope Ford and Big Swole are now the only real recognised competitors available.

However they do have a brewing Allie/Brandi thing as part of the Natural Nightmares strife (although whether Brandi will get in the ring again is a question). Mel (she who had her head shaved as part of the abandoned Nightmare Collective) has been spotted at ringside in the last few weeks. Anna Jay was signed on the strength of 2 Dark matches and hasn't been seen since, so could be wheeled out for something. They've also had Dani Jordan, Kilynn King and Christi Janes on Dark during the lockdown so could reach out to them. Britt's carer 'Reba' could do something (probably against Swole since Britt had a go at her recently). And finally, I've been watching some Leva Bates stuff from her indie days and she's absolutely wasted as Avalon's valet.

Some talk of Tessa Blanchard being signed. I dont agree with it, I dont think she should work again, but she is a talent unmistakably.

Wouldn't be shocked by Rachel Ellering either.

Yeah, there is no way he should have wrestled a match after Brock pinned him at Mania. Sometimes, people are their own worst enemies.

Thing is though, we as fans want the wrestlers we like to have perfect fairytale endings to their careers. The wrestlers probably want that too. But Taker is making millions every time he laced up his boots, and isn’t having to do anything crazy in the ring. It might be tarnishing his legacy, but I completely understand why he’s not stopping. Probably making more money now from WWE than he ever used to.

On a separate note, is Christian cleared to wrestle now? Read his concussion meant he was on the 'no contact' list - like Edge previously - but if he's taking punts from Randy Orton then he must have got cleared?

I've got absolutely no idea who they are to have an opinion.

Looks like they are dipping into the enhancement pool a bit further, Dani Jordan is getting another match (think this is her 4th) and they've brought in two new women for Dark to face the tag team of... Allie and Brandi (so it didn't take that much persuading to get her back in the ring after she said she was done).

I won't be surprised that they bring Paige in too, wonder if it has something to do with either Christian or Edge telling them they talked with Tony Khan.

Anyway on a side note, they cancelled Tuesday's tapings because a development talent who was in attendance on June 9th, tested positive, WWE cancelled Tuesday's tapings but plan to continue by Wednesday. They refused the wrestlers in the crowd to wear masks and brought in a bunch of avid WWE hardcore fans to the tapings and made them sign a waiver not to sue if someone gets infected.

Tessa Blanchard is Tully Blanchard's daughter and a great womens wrestler, she is currently the Impact World Champion having done all she could in the womens division there. She appeared at All In back in 2018 but chose to go with Impact/TNA instead of AEW. Any time a woman starts wrestling the men you know they're ready for WWE like with Asuka and Candice LeRae. You only have to see her wrestle once to know she's a star.

She has several really bad allegations of racism so thats why SS has an issue or two with the timing ;D

The racism allegations are the tip of the iceberg apparently. It's worse than what has come out.

By all accounts she is an absolute horror show backstage, and has acramoniously left a few companies, and is a known bully.

She is a star and a fantastic wrestler, but there is a reason she hasn't been signed yet despite being ready for about 5 years.

By all accounts Ivelese is the same as well.

On another separate note, how desperate must you have to be to come back now, during a pandemic in an empty silent arena.

I get the financial side of it, but surely the thing that gets these guys back is that live buzz.

I'm ok with Taker wanted his final match to be something be remembers, not something that happened while he was badly concussed. Working DX and Goldberg and wondering why his matches are bad is bizarre though.

Not seen it, but read it was actually good? Only bit I've caught is the intro with the Fink's voice, which I thought was a nice touch. Apparently they added extra crowd noise, which I think makes sense.

Not me.

I fell out of wrestling in about 2002 and ‘got back into it’ just after Edge retired so I just don’t consider him to be anything other than an upper midcard meh with a shite spear and Cena-like OTT facials. Yes I know he allegedly had a lot of good matches but my mind doesn’t match it up and I just consider that era to be a lower standard that the attitude before it and Bryan, Punk, Shield, rise of NXT after it.

As for Orton, yeah he’s obviously very good but just doesn’t do it for me. If he was a few years older he would have been great in 1999 against Austin and could have been a real bastard to him. Would have been the perfect guy to run him over!

Orton’s been a bit rubbish for years but his character work this year is on another level. When he’s motivated, he’s phenomenal, and the storyline with Edge has clearly motivated him. Just watched a bit of Raw and he was brilliant again, that mix of anger and regret over what he did to Christian.

Yeah when he's on it, there's not many better than Orton as a top level all rounder.  He just can't be arsed 90% of the time.
Sit down, shock is better taken with bent knees.

It was a 4 star match. Stupid hype, like.

I love Orton but usually it's just me. Sure, he can't be arsed, but half the time they make him a face which he is crap at, and some of his storylines are shite.

New Taker episode is up!! Really good  :)

WWE Tapings have been cancelled today after one of the NCT talents got Covid.

WWE are only now testing all talents for Covid. It's the middle of June and they have been filming in one of the epicenter's of Covid in US, and they haven't been testing until now.

Like I am sorry but that's just not acceptable.
